November 17, 201015 yr I posted this awhile ago but it never got addressed.I love RC4 and I love Vatsim, so I and many others use RC4 with Vatsim, its great, because alot of the time when I fly or where I fly to has no ATC coverage. But I still like doing my flights online, seeing other people etc etc, anyways I run fsinn and RC4 on a client PC, both come through my headset, all I want in RC5 is the option to Mute Radar Contact, sometimes on departure a tower or ground might come on then of course you have to follow there instructions, its kinda hard to do when you have 2 controllers going at the same time, in most cases I have to shut down RC4. Which sucks because for the rest of the trip there might not be anymore online ATC, so if I had an option to briefly mute RC5 it would be great.
November 17, 201015 yr I don't think two separate controllers would be appropriate. It is not just a matter of sound but they also might have different tactics which could conflict. If you have a good traffic package to provide AI then RC should provide all of the audio ambiance you should need. You'll hear other aircraft on your frequency (occasionally restricted to improve RC audio performance).

As it is now I have to shut down RC with a mute feature I would be able to leave it RC running and resume it at a later point if under no online ATC. As far as AI I have UT2, however I don't use it anymore, spend to much time zapping the traffic out of the way anyways, at least when I fly online if I see an aircraft there is a real person in control. A mute button could be beneficial in other scenarios aswell, I'm not a programmer but would it really be that hard to do?

RC4 has provided me more ATC coverage on Vatsim then any of there controllers But thats just because of the time of day I fly at, I must say I run into a lot of traffic aswell and wonder if they are doing the same thing as me. Everyone keep in mind aswell that while your online you still have announce your intentions on the unicom and maintain separation with other online traffic.
