November 18, 201015 yr I'm still fascinated by the complexity of the MD-11 and still in the process of discovering all the secret it has in its bag of surprises. So, I have two questions about LSAS:1.I remember to have read in this forum that during manual flight, LSAS can be temporarily disengaged by pressing and holding the AP OFF button. Is this correct? I didn't find anything about that in the manuals (I'm not good in searching :(), can someone please provide me with a reference to the source of this information?2.In what situations would one disengage LSAS at all (I don't mean emergencies)? November 18, 201015 yr I can't help with number one, I do not recall that feature but neither do I have very good recall. As for normal procedures you would never disengage LSAS, it is there for some very good control stability reasons. Dan Downs KCRP
