November 19, 201015 yr I am aware that this is not a PMDG question, but with all the great resposes and knowledgeable people here at the forum, I just had to ask.I am going to be for Christmas getting the King School Private Pilot "Get it all" KitSo to the question when I do Finally after all the hours and work put into getting my Private Pilots License, Will I be able to use that as a Sports Pilots License aslo, but without the Limitations that the Sports Pilots have? I have a friend that is going right now to get his Sports Pilots License and so I just wanted to see if I could also fly the plane with him. November 19, 201015 yr This is less about your license but more about what aircraft you actually fly. If you fly in a Light Sport aircraft (certified as such) you are automatically bound by its limitations - daytime only, altitude, airspace restrictions, etc. You should be aware of all these limitations which you can easily find everywhere. But like with any new flying equipment - you will need a checkout in this aircraft (logbook endorsement) for this aircraft. Make sure you are also covered in terms of insurance if you want to be Pilot in Command when you fly with your friend.. Michael J.
November 19, 201015 yr If you have a traditional PPL, you effectively also have a Sport Pilot Licence, because the Sport Licence was created as a lower classification with some restrictions on it in order to make simple aircraft more accessible to people (the sport restrictions mostly concern MTOW and where you can fly), so with the full-on licence, all that sport stuff falls within the boundaries of what a traditional PPL entitles you to.However, if it's the other way around and you have a Sport Licence, you are restricted to that class of aircraft and the limitations of your licence, as anything beyond it requires the more stringent PPL.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
