Hi,During engline start, in the film(start.wmv), we count the numbers of blades...1. What is the blade here refering to?2. Here pilot says to count 8 blades, but he primes 12 times, why?Thanks for your reply.Regards,TCC0928

The blades in this instance are the prop blades as they rotate through the top of the prop arc as they are being turned by the starter. Why twelve squirts of primer if you are counting eight blades? I'll have to ask that one of Russ next time I see him and run the video for him. You are the first person ever to ask that question in all the years that this video has been in use!

Hi Bill....I have heard that a few times as well.Never knew just what it meant. Always thought it meant 2 blade 3 blade or 4 blade per engine.
