Hi allblack, With a mid or high end system, fs2004 run very well, but with your system, you will have to move sliders to left and disable some feature. Be aware from some frustrated users about fs2004 run like fs2000, this is crazy.BestEric

All I can say is if buying a $40 piece of software causes this much stress and decision making-I'd stay away from it! :-)I had a meal for 3 today for $53 plus 10 dollar tip at a chain restaurant that also caused me stress-the food was lousy...not to mention the serviceBut it is over....Fs is the better bargain-and it lasts a little longer too.....actually a lot longer.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Actually Eric, Staffan's post baffles me. He has a 3.0 Gig and is having problems with FS2004....I have a low end system and can afford to buy a new system, but from what I've seen, and tested, I see no point in wasting money upgrading for a few more FPS. Just my experience with FS2004 on a low end system, which is what the thread was about..I don't think I'm confusing this gentlemen, but maybe you're confused about the topic on this post? It's about peoples experence with FS2004, not attacking individuals ERIC.RJ

:-lol You hit the nail right on the head Geof...It sounds like you got ripped at the restaurant......I have to admit, you'll never get stomach stick from Flight simulator, so I'd say buy FS2004 and give it a try....It amazes me why people always have to attack individuals on these forums. I guess the weak feel strong behind their keyboards, while in the real world, if they verbally attacked people, they would get a black eye.. :-lolRJ

Hello, "I have a low end system and can afford to buy a new system, but from what I've seen, and tested, I see no point in wasting money upgrading for a few more FPS."Well I don't know how much you have FPS with your system, but with my system I run it almost to full with no problems. I don't recommend to test a product in store. Last week I have run EA F1, the computer crash before the start or the race.BestEric

"Unfortunately upgrading isn't an option. If I wanted to sleep in the garage for three weeks with nobeer then there are better ways of arranging it than cominghome with a "Hi honey, come and see my new computer!".I liked your comment about FS9 looking the same as FS8 withall the sliders down so low - I hadn't thought about it thatway.Jeez, this is tough. Half of me says "go for it, if nothingelse you have a newer toy", and the other half says "don't bea dickhead, buy a new fishing rod instead".Decisions, decisions......"Look at the bright side, if you are sleeping in the garage, you'll have plenty of time for simming! Yeah but Eric, I always kick the tires of a new car before I buy it...:-lolRJ :-wave

Howdy,Geof: Unfortunately, 2K4 costs NZ$119.90; heck that's our grocery bill for a week. Allblack: Keep the bonus (or use it as a hp downpayment on a new rig, m8).

I have an AMD 1.4Gh machine with 512 megs of ram, a GF4 Ti 4200 128meg video card, and I am using onboard sound. I have been using FS2004 for a few weeks now and it is working good. I have not looked back to 2002! I have most of the graphic options maxed and the performance has been smooth. I have not checked the FPS, but it feels good which is all I need to be happy. I do get a little stutter in a large city with lots of detail but even then, not enough to make it unflyable. Small cities have been rendering smooth.BTW, I am not overclocked and have done little in the way of tweaking. I am just lucky and it worked right out of the box. So don't give up just because you don't have the latest hardware. You may be surprised.Good luck!regards,Dave
