November 27, 201015 yr I'm unable to engage CH Eclipse Yoke - Throttle/Prop/Mixture controls after spending about 1-hour of continous FSX and PC reboots. I've also rebuilt FSX.cfg and am considering re-installing the yoke from scratch. These controls are only operating properly in about 1 of 8 FSX start-ups regardless of type aircraft including the default Cessna. All other yoke controls and buttons work perfectly . For twin-engine operations, the Elite King Air and MEL throttle quadrants are used without issue. Control assingnments and calibrations are accomplished via FSUIPC and I've never had the calibrations set as perfectly as they are now; (this includes the ever-challenging CH Rudder Pedals & Brakes). For this reason, I'm very reluctant to start over from scratch. Just curious if anybody else has experienced this problem? Many thanks in advance. Vista-64 FSX Gold Deluxe FSUIPC4 (registered)
November 28, 201015 yr LDP'49I can only list what I would do:Unplug the eclipse from the USB Hub/Port and try another;Make sure that the USB Hub/Port does not have power saving enabled in the OS.Check sensitivity in FSX is full right 100% and Null Zone is full left (0%)Check that you have no duplicate assignments in CH Manager (only if used in Mapped mode), FSX and FSUIPC4 (particularly the last two)Does the throttle work in the Windows Calibration page? If it does it has to work in FSX.If you can calibrate in FSUIPC4 it has to work in FSX.Checked hardware - no issues?Check that the 'standard.xml' is not corrupted wrt throttle entries.Bob Church is the guru for all things CH over on the CH_Hangar forum. I've never had an issue with the Eclipse in FSX in Win XP /Vista 64-bit / Win7 64-bit. :Batting Eyelashes: RegardsPeterH
November 28, 201015 yr Author Thanks for all the info; I'll take your advice. I just tried it with a previously saved flight and it worked fine.
November 29, 201015 yr I just bought one last week and had the same issues, but mine were with the trim wheel. I finally unplugged and rebooted without it. I also uninstalled the CH control manager. I then plugged in the yoke and Win 7 re-installed the drivers and everything has worked fine since. Now if I can just figure out how to disable the paddles and move the Hat function from the left to the right handle, I'll be happy. i7-975 ext @ 4.0, Astek 120MM water cooler, ASUS P6T X58 MB, EVGA GTX 480 1.5 GB, 6GB Kingston Hyper X 1600 MHz, 2 128GB Kingston SSDs, 1 TB WD Black HD, CoolerMaster 1000W power supply, Cooler Master Storm Sniper case, TrackIR, Win 7 64 bit
November 30, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the information. I changed several of the default functions using the registered version of FSUIPC. This includes: moving the 'Hat' control from the left to the right button; using the left toggle for trim; using the left horizontal button for autopilot master and yaw damper; using the center red button on the front panel for the parking brake.
November 30, 201015 yr Thanks! I give that a try this weekend. Didn't think of using FSUIPC to change the hat location. Is there a way to turn off the lights on the front of the yoke without unplugging it from the USB port? Thanks for the help. i7-975 ext @ 4.0, Astek 120MM water cooler, ASUS P6T X58 MB, EVGA GTX 480 1.5 GB, 6GB Kingston Hyper X 1600 MHz, 2 128GB Kingston SSDs, 1 TB WD Black HD, CoolerMaster 1000W power supply, Cooler Master Storm Sniper case, TrackIR, Win 7 64 bit
