Financial statements go here ---> http://edgar.sec.gov/ ---> News wire --> to you.Press releases do not ever contain financial info unless there is an appropriate filing first. Which was the case with the Original PR release of Aces closing. Everything else is just hype. There's about 4 times a year a CEO will say anything publically about the company, it's called earnings week. Otherwise "no further guidance at this time" or "ask my CFO" is a common response.

Recall I was just constructing an example to prove you could be sued on the contents of your PR even though the PR is not formally a contract...I think what you are saying is very similar to (a special case, actually) of what I am saying:- You: "Financial info in PR wire must first be filed with EDGAR, and any additional questions must be routed to CFO".- Me: "Contents of all PR wires must be vetted by legal department prior to release."Where we part ways is the "Everything else is just hype" bit.Any company foolishly hyping their products PR- or otherwise will end-up looking... well, foolish. Some hype is OK, as we all are adult enough (even we simmers!) to discount the hype.So IMHO in this particular PR, Microsoft addressed the concerns of the post-FSX flight sim community regarding MS Flight. They are aware they botched managing customer expectations last time with FSX, so I'm confident this time around they are extremely careful and precise in what they say and don't say. And as a result of what they did say and what they did imply between the lines, I estimate about 75% of my concerns (a subjective number if there ever was) have been put to rest, based on my confidence in Microsoft as a mostly successful and well-managed company (but not perfect) with an established track-record in software product management. While we wait for MS Flight, let's all consider FSX just keeps getting better by virtue of faster and faster CPUs and GPUs :-)Cheers,- jahman.

Well Edelman is handling the Public Relations work for some strange reason so whatever is coming out is probably vetted by their lawyers, but nothing more. They handle the complaints department for Microsoft, so it's kind of weird seeing them do Promotional work for this product as well. It could just be that position isn't staffed yet at MGS, and they're handling it in the mean time, or it could be part of the rebranding efforts.

That's a relief. I'm hoping that "welcoming wider audiences" translates to better/more tutorials for beginners. I know it all seemed very vague when I first started playing around with FS trying to figure out what to do once I'd figured out the basic controls. Something like teaching you how to create a realistic flight plan, follow ATC direction, etc would be a great way to show newbies how deep the FS experience can be, rather than just flying about until you get bored.

I'm glad they're focusing on the social/community aspects - the world of Flight (Simulator) has great potential with regards to meeting and flying online with other players. I've always felt the online aspect has so far been a little weak. Gamespy is very unreliable and the social aspects need improving. I enjoy flying from A to B but I'd rather fly online and meet others along the way. The whole concept makes it feel more real. I know this hasn't been confirmed but I'm hoping they will introduce character building options with focus on flying hours, type ratings, destinations visited, achievements etc - a little like an mmorpg. Gives us all something to aim for and work towards.I'm also pleased they appear to be focusing on performance when they mention "achieving better performance on today’s hardware". Every time I've purchased a new version of FS I've had to upgrade. Maybe I wont have to this time round :)I'm looking forward to this release. It sounds exciting and hopefully a step in the right direction.
