Hi Joe.I save mine as Extenden Bmp. (Extended 32-bit 8-888) But this gives no reflections.which extension should I use?

It's not the extension or bitmap format (32-bit vs. DXT3) that creates reflections, it's the alpha channel. If your not getting any reflections I suspect your alpha channel is pure white. The alpha channel has to be a grayscale image.Using Photoshop, with my color picker set to grayscale, I usually start my alpha at about 7%, then adjust to taste. Some parts, tires for instance, will not want reflections and should keep a pure white alpha.regards,Joe

Thanx Joe, I think I´m getting it.. Those 7%... Are they 7% black (gray) in the alpha channel image?/J

Hi Joe! It worked! Many thanx! Another question: How do I make certain parts of a texture plate VERY reflective (like the engine cowl lips being just in pure chrome as on the new United (Continental) birds)? The cowl lips are part of the engine .bmp and I don´t want the entire engine to be chrome. :Batting Eyelashes: //J

You would paint that part of the alpha with a darker shade of gray to increase the "chrome" effect. The alpha does not have to be all one color. The way I do it is to make a layer on top of the paintkit for the alpha and paint it with the opacity set so I can see the parts underneath it. Then change the opacity to 100% and copy that layer and paste it to the trans.bmp from DXTBmp. Some paintkits come with an alpha layer in them, or as a seperate file.regards,Joe
