October 25, 200322 yr Has any one downloaded the Lancaster for FS2004 and been able to successfully fly it.On my system I don't have enough elevator and elevator trim to maintain hands off level flight. Any information on correcting this problem would be much appreiated.Happy Flyin' - Ken
October 25, 200322 yr Author Hi Ken,Same thing here! I would have contacted the author but there is no readme in the package. Nice model but the flight dynamics need more than a lot of work. Since I don't want to develop flight dynamics for such a large package, I've just deleted it from my system.JohnBoeing 727/737 Mechanic
October 25, 200322 yr Thanks John. At least I know it is not my system or something I missed in the installation.Happy Flyin' - Ken
October 26, 200322 yr I had the same experience. But I am a bit of a stubborn #### and began playing with the *.air file. Under the Flight Dynamics, I found an entry for Elevator Control Factor. I changed it to -6000 and that at least allows the A/C to lift off and climb with full fuel, etc. This is probably less than realistic, but as stated, it works.
July 17, 200520 yr Level flight??? I can't even get the beggar off the ground. Tried the usual things: Flaps, dropping the fuel load. Reduced the fuel load so that I had the two wing tanks down to 50% and the centre down to 30%.The old girl gets up to speed ok (120+kias) but just won't lift off. As I don't have enough computer savvy to get into the files I think I'll have to delete the plane and either find another one or wait until this one gets fixed. Anyone know other sites etc I can get a Lanc for FS2004? The ones on this site don't want to fly.Really like the old Lanc's. An uncle of mine flew them in WWII.

The Lanc is one of the aircraft in this package. Very nicely done model. :DAnd your problem isn't limited to the Lanc, there's a LOT of planes in my stable which will not fly or will not even get off the ground without dumping most of the fuel load. I don't know what modellers were thinking, the plane is tested by the designer/manufacturor with a full fuel load AND a pilot. If the plane wouldn't get off the ground and fly it would not have won certification. :D
July 17, 200520 yr Which Lancaster is it?I have a Lancaster BIII by David Garwood that flys fine. The main file is lancbiii.zip and there are two update files, lnc3fs9.zip (which I think affects the flight model)and lancpnlv2.zip (which provides an updated panel).I installed it a while ago and can't remember whether I updated it fully. Now while I know from what I have read that the Lanc laden with 22,000 pounds of bomb + fuel+ crew did take a bit to get off the ground it did do it. I have modified both models with the lnc3fs9 update but I also tried to work each one before installing the update but no success either way.** is looking good. Wonder if the bank balance will handle the strain. Am having to put a decent graphics card in my machine as it has on board graphics at the moment and they don't cut the mustard.
