October 26, 200322 yr Hey ppl,After a 2 month break from FS I'm back in business!I recently upgraded my video card to an Abit Nvidia FX5200. I'm not sure whether the following is due to the card or not but I get different frame results when running FS in Full Screen Mode and Window Mode. In effect the difference is dramatic - In Full Screen I get very low frame rates (10 frames/sec) whilst in Window Mode I get extremely high frame rates (> 50 frames/sec). Needless to say, with such frame rates, flying in window mode is fantastic. However the disad. is that you get the menu bar constantly visible together with Windows' program tray.I always thought that running in Full Screen would generate the best results...any comments or suggestions about this issue?Storm
October 26, 200322 yr Author Is it possible that you are running in different resolutions, desktop vs FS9? Or are there other options, like ground shadows or water effects that are turned off in one, but not the other?Try running 1024x768x32 both desktop and FS9 as a test and select, say2xAA and 4xAF as a baseline. With the new 52.16 drivers, you should get decent framerates in full screen mode. Also compare both cockpit 2d, VC, and outside views... on my system, the 2d views favor the fullscreen, whereas the VC favors the windowed mode.. October 26, 200322 yr I'd suspect it's caused by running with FSAA on in fullscreen mode and no FSAA when windowed. October 27, 200322 yr Guys, Windows resolution and FS resolution are the same - 1024x768x32. I do not change any settings when in windowed mode. Same settings, same everything, I get 10x better frame rates.Storm
