FSX cfg

Featured Replies

I cleared out all the previous FSX cfg and reloaded but no new config.I always thought it would reload a new one.Any help would be appreciated. :( :(

From what folder did you remove/delete your fsx.cfg file?On my Vista system the fsx.cfg file is located in the folder "C:\Users\my-user-name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX" (substitue <my-user-name> with your username). The AppData folder is normally not shown in Windows Explorer. You have to change a setting in the Folder Options (View-tab) to show hidden folders.

I think you need to run a flight to generate a .cfg file

Copy this into the Start menu search option (Windows 7) or run (XP and Vista... can't really remember) and hit enter.%AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\This will open the FSX folder where the cfg is, no matter if the folder is hidden or not.If you want to open the cfg immediately, copy this:%AppData%\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.cfg

Not so - you only need start FSX after you have exited the program. If he "deleted" it while FSX was still running, I highly doubt the file would have been actually deleted. And the OP may not have "permission" to delete the file - so although he thought he had deleted it, it still remained.
