777 Professional CTD Problem

Featured Replies

All of a sudden I'm having a problem with Just Flight's 777 Professional B777-200/300 planes! When I try to load one from the panel screen, the panel makes a brief appearance then the screen goes blank and after a couple of minutes I get the "FS has encountered a problem and needs to restart" window. If I try to load a 777 Pro plane from an exterior view FS still crashes, but not quite as quickly. When I click on the get details button on the crash window the file PSS_b777.gau is listed. I tried restoring the file from an old back up thinking the file must have got corrupted somehow, but this did not fix the problem. The thing is, this isn't the first time I've experienced this problem with 777 Pro. The first time (the current episode is the second time) was ages ago, maybe a year or more. Long enough anyway, that I can't remember how I fixed the problem or if I even did fix it (it could have mysteriously fixed itself as quickly as it mysteriously appeared, as in this case, for all I can remember!).Aside from installing an update for DirectX a couple of days ago (to get FSAudio.dll for the TinMouse v1.3 to load)and installing several payware airport sceneries I haven't done anything on my system that might have caused this latest episode. the 1SG FMC would not load in other aircraft as well but rebooting my system fixed that problem...The last time I installed new livery (a fictional Olympic Airlines 777-300 livery) back on Dec. 15th everything was working fine...Initially, when I tried to load a 777 Pro plane this evening I just got an error message stating that PSS_B777.gau would not load. After hitting the OK button about a dozen times or so the plane eventually loaded but all the display screens were blank. After trying this several times the CTD problem began. One interesting side note, the weather radar on the 777 Professional, which would briefly appear (well, the outline of the gauge anyway) then vanish, appeared intact, but still blank, like all the other instrument displays. I had given up trying to get that working and installed the Reality XP Wx500 weather radar a few months ago...Anyway, if no one can jog my memory as to how I might have fixed the problem preivously or how to fix this problem for good!, I've got a good mind to dump the 777 Pro and install the Wilco 777 (perhaps not as good as the 777 Pro, but at least it has never given me this problem!)which I currently have installed in FSX. That or else go with the Project Open Sky B777 (recommendations are welcome)!

check this thread - the two files mentioned might be the issue:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/278486-777-professional-install-problem/page__p__1730261#entry1730261

Thanks, Mark! The bad new is that the voronoi.dat and FSWRX2100.gau files are right where they're suppose to be.The good news is that I took a look at the PSS folder in FS3004 and noticed in the Boeing777 subfolder that the panelconfig.dat file had a date of 12/19. Knowing I hadn't altered the panel.cfg file since adding the Reality XP Wx500 weather radar in November, I tried going back to an older panel file (I always backup my panel.cfg and aircraft.cfg file before making any changes). This did the trick. The 777 Pro loaded without any problems. I put the Reality XP radar back in, tested the new panel.cfg file again and aircraft loaded without incident again. Crisis averted and all is right with the world once again...at least until the next crisis (G)! Now if I could just figure out the problem with the FSWRX2100 weather radar.... I *really* dislike unexplained goings on like this (and finding files where they don't belong like finding a FS2002 scenery ziped file in my FS2004 Gauges folder this morning)!Scott

Right click on the FSWRX2100 file and check the version - if it isn't 1.0.5.4 that could be a problem.DJ

I think the problem would be addons conflicting. If you have CS757 on you sim then a problem will occur with the PSS 777. There is a fix on Just Flight. If that is not that then I am sorry I don't have any more solutions. Happy landings!:(

It's version 1.5.0.0 Where can I get the newest version? Anyway, I could swear that it initially worked after installing 777 Professional....

There are multiple addons that install this thing - and they all step happily on each other. PM me with your email address.DJ
