FLIGHTSIM STOPPED WORKING

Featured Replies

Over the years I have had various problems with FSX but this is new. When flying ATC from KATL to KJFK, FSX stops and I get error indicating fault with FSX.exe. This time, it pointed to "Terrain.dll". The problem always occur between wapoints "SPA" and "GVE". I have no idea what is causing this problem. I do not remember installing anything lately that may cause this. I hope I can locate problem area without having to reinstall FSX all over again. I fly other routes with no problem. This seems to be associated with scenery/terrian.

I used to have that happen in an area aorund NE Alabama, I just avoided flying there finally.Save a copy of your fsx.cfg then remove the original and let a new one rebuild and see if that helps, no need to reinstall FS at this point. Also delete the fsx.cfg.txt file that is now probably there after a sim crash.

Duplicate afcad files somewhere? errors in your scenery.cfg maybe?

If this is attributed to a corrupt .dll file, then I'd suggest using a "repair" re-installation option. Dave.
