December 31, 201015 yr Nice, how much would you say TrackIR improves your ability to do circuits/traffic patterns and visual approaches? Those are the things i feel using a hat-switch are most hindering, but im still a little unsure whether it will improve so much.It makes everything so much easier. I don't think there's an SI unit for ease, but it certainly makes it a LOT more natural, being able to keep your eye on the runway as you turn. Even in the heavies, where you're performing final checks entering the runway it is a lot easier. Of course, it doesn't beat a fully immersive physical simpit, but for the cost of TrackIR vs the tens of thounds of dollars of a simpit it's most certainly worth it. Andrew McCluskey
December 31, 201015 yr I was lucky to have both the headset clip and the hat reflection clip included when I bought the trackIR.I have put the hat reflection clip on top of my headset, it looks odd but works well with a big monitor. The trackIR is worth every penny especially if you need to look around for the airport. It's very intuitive, you'll love it. Chris Farrell

Imagine you're on base in a left hand pattern. You can glance between the runway to your left and the instrument panel repeatedly as you approach the final turn without really thinking about it. Now imagine trying to do the same with the hat switch.
