Flaps w/ Saitek Throttle Quadrant

Recommended Posts

Excuse my ignorance if this has already been addressed.Myself and several others w/ Saitek Throttle Quadrants are having an issue where we can't use the Saitek Throttle Quandrant for setting the flaps w/ the Tin Mouse II.The throtte quandrant works fine with any other aircraft (payware or freeware) so I don't think it is a setting issues with the Saitek Throttle Quandrant. When moving the lever up, the flaps go to 1 degree then immedately back to 0.Any ideas?

Yes, hardware control of the flaps with a variable axis controller does not work, because I intentionally broke the connection between the flap handle and the flaps so that we would not get movement of the flaps when there's no hydraulic power or the right kinds of electrical power for the control circuits and valves. There are very few simulations that get this right--most, even some from big-name outfits--will move the flaps with no power on the jet at all. This also enables a functioning alternate flap extension system using the switches on the overhead panel. There is a workaround you might try, using FSUIPC's ability to send controls when an axis controller enters a particular range...I described this some time back here in the forum. The basic idea is to set up FSUIPC to send the flap increment/decrement commands as the lever is moved through a range, so the axis is actually sending discrete key or offset commands at various places along its range.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

BobI use FSUIPC to assign/calibrate the flaps to one of my CH throttle quad levers. I use the "send direct to FSUIPC" option in the assignment tab, and then the standard flap calibration tab. I dont need to use the "range" function !The actual flap lever in the cockpit does not move but the indicator on the panel does.Peterps This is in FS9

I use the FSUIPC Buttons setup. I use the B1 toggle on my yoke and set the down press to increase flaps and the up press to decrease flaps. Not realistic, but it works.-Rick

I have a toggle on one of my panels that does that, but was looking to see if I could set it up on my thottle quandrant as every other aircraft I have works with the quandrant.Looks like I may have to dig into the FSUIPC manual and see if I can configure this.

This is old, but did you ever manage to get the Saitek (X52) to control flaps in this aircraft?

OK, updating to version 1.32 of the aircraft has solved the problem.. X52 now works the flaps in the TM 732, with no tweaking of FSUIPC.
