January 8, 201115 yr Hi!I have been having problems with one of my addon airports, the Cloud9 Bergen. The screen freezes for about 0.1 or 0.2 seconds every 4 seconds. I have posted a topic at Cloud9 forum and some of the devs has come with some suggestions, but so far no luck. The freezing keeps happening no matter fps, display settings, aircraft. I have tweaked the whole fsx.cfg but nothing stops the freezing. It happens as soon as I get closer than 7 nm to the airport and regardless of weather, time of the day...Has anyone ever had such an issue before and found a solution for it? Any help appreciated! Antonio H.

January 8, 201115 yr Author Make sure you have Process monitor running in the foreground with FSX running in windowed mode. SOrt processes by CPU usage, dou you see one called couatl.exe?Thank you for your response, bojote! I found the process couatl.exe running. I stopped it and all buildings in Bergen airport disappeared. Unfortunately the freezing was still there. Do you think couatl.exe has somethig to do with the freezing? Do you have any suggestions as to what I shall do with that process since stopping it doesn't help?I have added a video showing the freezing effecthttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c92FMbVCPhw Antonio H.
January 9, 201115 yr See my threads, "Strange pauses at KJFK" in this forun, the FlightSim forum, and particularly go to the DreamTeam General Fourm. My problem was my SP-2 patch for FSX and reinstalling the DreamTeam textures.Good luck:RTH
January 9, 201115 yr Author Thank you for your response!I really don't feel like reinstalling the whole SP2 for FSX since everything except for Cloud9 bergen is running fine. I am just afraid of spoiling the whole FSX installation.I will try to reinstall the DreamTeam textures. I know I have done that already, but I will try once again... Antonio H.
January 10, 201115 yr Your caution may be well said.I may have spoken too soon.School may or may not still be out on my problem.I just made the following discoveries when I tried to select third party aircraft. I don't know whether this would have been all or not, but I tried several (i.e. Capt.Sim 757, LDS 767, Aeroworx King Air, PMDG 1900, and a generic third party bird or two. Some came up with partial panels, others shutdown FSX.1. First indication during startup was that I got an error message stating that FSUIPC nor Wideclient were not being linked to work.2. When I selected the LDS 767, it stated that it needed to be reinstalled.3. Looked in the ADDON provisions at top of the FSX display. All that were listed were Couati-Powered Products and Addon Manager. Quickgoto, FSUIPC, PMDG, and Leveld Simulations which also should have been listed had been removed.4. Reinstalled the latest version of FSUIPC. (4.60a best I remember).5. Some birds that previously shutdown FSX now worked (i.e. PMDG 1900). Others still shutdown FSX (i.e. Aeroworx King Air) and I no longer got the FSUIPC or Wideclient errors.6. Being that new DT installations had replaced my DLL.XML file, to see what would happen I put the DLL.XML file that I had when all of this started back in my FSX folder. All aircraft in question are back working and the addon listings were replaced. I fully expected the pauses which motivated this thread to start with to be back, but to my surprise aircraft movement at DT KJFK was smooth, textures were still normal and SO FAR I see no other problems with anything else.Hopefully all problems are solved now but time will tell.Respectfully:RTH Thank you for your response!I really don't feel like reinstalling the whole SP2 for FSX since everything except for Cloud9 bergen is running fine. January 10, 201115 yr Commercial Member As I've already replied to you on our forum: 6. Being that new DT installations had replaced my DLL.XML fileNo, they don't replace anything, they only ADD the Addon Manager section, if is not there. There's ONLY one case in which your DLL.XML is replaced: when, due to having edited it by hand or because *another* installer from another product has corrupted it, our installer will check this and will ASK you if you want to replace your corrupted DLL/EXE.XML with a fresh one. This check is made BEFORE touching the XML files, and is made by asking to the standard MS XML validation library if the XML file is correct. If it's not, you'll see a diagnostic message during the installation telling which line contains the error and you are given the option to start with a fresh file, but our installer will never, ever, replace the XML file on its own, nor will ever corrupt them, because it's also using the standard MS XML parser to process them so, it's not possible the XML files would become corrupted by our installers, which simply reacts to corruption that was created elsewhere (either by another product, or by hand-edited the files, perhaps with the wrong text editor)to see what would happen I put the DLL.XML file that I had when all of this started back in my FSX folder. All aircraft in question are back working and the addon listings were replaced. I fully expected the pauses which motivated this thread to start with to be back, but to my surprise aircraft movement at DT KJFK was smooth, textures were still normal and SO FAR I see no other problems with anything else. This just proves the pauses weren't caused by our sceneries, since you now don't have any pauses...you said you *updated* FSUIPC with the most current version: this is just an example of something that might have fixed your issue, since the XML file is the same, but it's now activating an updated module. Same might have happened with other modules you had, which you might have upgraded while reinstalling them. Our installers always get the module directly from the internet so, you always get the latest version. Umberto Colapicchioni http://www.fsdreamteam.com FSDT on Facebook
January 10, 201115 yr Author If I understand it correctly, you fixed the problem by updating FSUIPC. I don't own a registered copy of FSUIPC. I think some of the payware addons that I have installed earlier have added some FSUIPC files to FSX. I wonder how I am supposed to upgrade FSUIPC without owing a registered copy. And would such an upgrade change the FSUIPC settings? Antonio H.

Take a backup copy of your FSUIPC4.ini file to be on the safe side.
January 11, 201115 yr Author Reinstalling FSUIPC did not have any effect on the micro pauses. Neither did reinstalling other addons like REX, GEX, UTX or changing settings in MyTraffic. These micro pauses are driving me crazy! Any suggestions appreciated! Antonio H.
January 16, 201115 yr Commercial Member The problem has been fixed with an update to the scenery. As expected, it didn't had anything to do with the Addon Manager but, it was a problem of some scenery objects missing from the installer. The updated is available on our forum here:http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=4016.0And it's a suggested update for every user of Cloud9 Bergen (the FSX version). The full installer has been updated as well so, people downloading the Trial version or purchasing it after today, will not experience the problem.
