Really?! Thats interesting. With the PMDG planes, you get OOM errors only with 32bit but once you go to 64 bit you lose those errors. I never get them on my current setup which only has 3gb of ram on a 64bit
This subject has been recycled too often - OOMs happen on both 32bit and 64bit systems. On 32bit FSX can use up to 3GB of virtual size it works in (only through a tweak), and on 64bit 4GB. But NOT more. If you push it, it will OOM.And this has NOTHING to do with a fact how much RAM you have installed. You can have 8GB of RAM, make FSX use more than 4GB, and still OOM under 64bit system. Get it?For some non-believers out there (of course, LOD 30 being an unrealistical LOD, but this can happen in some heavy situations, when possibly a scenery has a memory leak or you simply load it enough programs, even something like FSPassengers would count into this):

No 100% understand..... So You say that FSX can use 4GB RAM on 64bits system, that means you must have more than 4GB (1-2GB for OS or others program + FSX 4GB) , right? So that means, 2x4GB on dual channel or 3x2GB triple channel?

It's not about RAM. It's about memory space OS allocates for a single program. That is virtual size. A memory space a program works in.You can have 2GB and STILL successfully use 4GB of virtual space, you will need to turn on paging probably (never tried it). Virtual space and RAM of course work together, but are not the same thing. You could compare it with a smaller bowl in a big bowl. But 6GB will allow OS to allocate 2GB (or mostly less) for itself and also up to 4GB for FSX.For Sandy, 2x4GB dual.

I would pick an SLI/XFire capable board (Asus p8p67 pro for instance), and a I5 2500K instead

thanks, but i'm not intersting by sli for fsx, and 2600k goes better than 2500!

Although its SLI compatible when you put in 2 GPUS the slots go down to X8 on both. But for FSX you don't need SLI.Also, just finished my buildIntel 2500K no over clock as of yet4gb 1600460GTX 1gb

The SLI thing is to be covered for MS Flight, just in case it's a GPU bound sim able to take advantage of itThe 2500K is the same chip as the 2600K without HT and 2 MB of L3 cache less, that most likely will prove no benefit in MS Flight, and none at all in FSX

Nice Taylor!, eagerly waiting for your first impressions
