Hi,I've been having a nightmare getting FSX working on my new system detailed below. After finally getting stable after intalling Addon's PMDG, Level-D,etc. (NO Wilco products!). After an intensive 2 weeks of troubleshooting and many failed intall attemps. FSX was stable. I Defraged with Ultimate Defrage 3 (Folder/ Name) still very stable. Next I installed several Megascnery earth tiles. Then I went to defrag the OS (Windows 7 64 Proffession) on a completly seperate drive. FSX is totally unoperational. FSX freezes and is stuck at 0% loading. FSX freezes with in initial Windows. Will not load sim at all. I've deleted the logobook.ini and FSX.CFG no avail still 100% crash rate with now sim loading. I tried doing a reinstall with FSX DVD's followed by SP1 and SP2 reinstalls no help. Uninstalled addon-on no help. Reinstalled current Nvidia driver no help. Tried adding "Disable preload=1" no help. User account control disabled.I'm about to through this thing out the Window. I've been a FSX user for 20 years, but this is ablsoltuely rediculous! :( Any suggestions would be a great help. :( Thank You,Billy Bob

Billy Bob, of course you have something wrong that should not be. The simpliest recommendation I can make is a clean install of everything. You should not have had so many failed initial installs and I am not sure what you have done from start to finish so all I can do is start fresh.I would start by getting hold of a disc wiping program like dBan or WD Acronis http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?wdc_lang=en&fid=wdsfVelociRaptor and wipe your discs clean. Vista and W7 leave little bits (pun intended) of themselves even after a format. Did you download MSXML4 from microsoft yet? I've been going through reinstalls too. Biggest problem was my Level_D had no STARS or SIDS. System would crash within 10 minutes and then crash every time I re-started after that. Installing the MSXML file cured most everything except simconnect. But I am up and running again.Hope this helpsDave

Hi Gary and Smithdavidp,This was a clean install using the PMDG protocol on their website. After deletion of partition, etc. Anyway, FINALLY, after a Re-Repair (Reinstall) from DVD's and Re-Re-Reinstall of SP1 and SP2 FSX loaded to sim. I can't remember having this many problems installing. W7 also provided a registry nightmare, about 100+ invalid registries, etc., which wouldn't allow SP1 to install.After defraging any of the hard drives with Ultimate Defrag 3, FSX has to be repaired every time. Nice.. I'll have to email Disktrix about this.I'll also install MSXLM 4, for Level-DAnwyay, looks like things are downhill from here on out.Thanks for the help to all!BillyBob

She's looking good now. Somehow Ultimate Defrag 3 corrupted my Megascenery drive and caused all kinds of havoc. It's not the first time. It corrupted my Vista OS drive about 4 months ago. Now I have multiple drives with FSX, OS, and Megascnery all on different drives. Perfomance is greatly increased.Anyway, FSX seems stable with PMDG birds happy, and REX installing wx textures now.Now I just need to find the time to install the 200+ megascenery earth tiles. :( Which is a full time job!Thank goodness, its commming together.Been battling this for the last 3 weeks straight.Thanks all for the help!!!BillyBob
