January 18, 201115 yr Commercial Member Flying out of KJFK to EGLL the other night I was caught on the hop by instructions I have not heard before.Flying runway heading with the Hapie3 SID in the flightplan, I was expecting to be told to follow as filed or maybe be given a heading to follow. The controller instead read off a list of letters to follow. It all happened so fast I can't remember what they were. What was he referring me to?

January 18, 201115 yr First, what checkpoint appeared in the status section of the RC flight window? Was that inside thirty miles? What flight planner are you using? If you are using FSBuild with the first release of 2.4 you need to upgrade it to version (as of yesterday) 2405 here:http://www.fsbuild.com/dl/Fsbuild2405_Upd.exeThe first releases had some export format (some non-legal characters) and SID expansion routing problems. The only phonetic spelling RC4 does do my knowledge is unrecognized airline names and destinations. If you get a direct-to you'll get a phonetic spelling of the waypoint name. These actions will be shown in an RC log.
