Annoying Autopilot Problem

Featured Replies

HiI recently got back into Flight Simming after taking a long break playing Aion, I've recently been flying the PMDG MD11 in conjunction with AOA's MD11 Training which I must say is an awesome product to go with your MD11.The problem I have is after landing on the runway and turning off the Autopilot I get this annoying sound saying Autopliot along with some annoying beeps, this constantly repeats over and over. The question I have is how do I turn off this annoying autopilot alerting sound thereby silencing the cockpit apart from the sounds of the engines and the usual ambience u get inside a aircrafts cockpit? Did one of my best landing's ever today a hand flown landing into Palma De Mallorca with light winds, the landing was perfect bang on the numbers. Fantastic work on this product. Many Thanks Jason

From p.29 of the first tutorial: "Press the Z-key or the corresponding button on your steering device to deactivate the autopilot. The FMA will show disconnection with a red box (5). To cancel the warning press the key or button a second time."

Ok I have to say it... I've never understand why some people have this problem, if you know how to disconnect the autopilot and afterwards all you hear is Betty saying 'autopilot' is it not instinct to push the autopilot button again? I cant get my head around why people don't do that.Regards
