February 1, 201115 yr After studing all forum articles and other forum, articles and more, about starting the JS41 I discovered that my propellors are in feather position. Afther pressing the feather relaese button (left and right with the power leaver in feather position ) the propellors don't move to un-feather position.both hydraulic valves are open, but there is no hydrailic pressure.Question;- Is this the reason why I can't start my plane?- How can I get pressure to the hydraulic system?Hope to get an answer real soon....thanks.
February 1, 201115 yr Commercial Member The feather release buttons are only for emergencies and non-standard operations. Although you claim to have read all of the forum articles, the sticky at the top of this forum directly addresses the question. Please read this (it has pictures of the process):http://forum.avsim.net/topic/261431-js41-startup-guide/ Kyle Rodgers
February 2, 201115 yr Author Yes I know, I've read the article, and followed every step by the lettter, but it still doesn't work. :-(The proppelors are in feather mode and they will not move to unfeather mode. That is why I can't start my engines.Do you have an more/other suggestion that can help me?
February 2, 201115 yr Commercial Member Are you sure you're using the feather pumps and not the feather release buttons? I'm not convinced you're doing it properly, otherwise, the engines would start just fine (actually coarse, but I digress). Also, make sure when you load FS, you're loading up a flight with a default aircraft (I recommend the default 172). Load it up the Cessna, pull the mixture, shut off the battery/alternator, and then load the Jetstream. As it loads, you can hear engines spooling down, and as that's happening, pull the throttle levers into reverse (F2 key). From there, the props should stay on the locks, so there is no need to bother with trying to put them back on the locks. Kyle Rodgers

To avoid any "interferences" from other less or more complex add-on aircrafts that you have installed for your FSX, try running J41 by double-clicking the PMDG tutorial saved flight file in Documents folder. Aircraft will load with props in feathered position, then move throttles all the way back, and use unfeather switch (pumps exactly, as Kyle mentioned when I was writing this post ) to set props in proper position.Regards,

You had it right the first time. :( ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
February 2, 201115 yr Commercial Member No. Fine. You had it right the first time. :(Good catch. I'm a little short bus this morning - thought I was being clever. This is why I don't fly to early in the morning. I need to be awake enough to process information, like the differences between fine and coarse.Another tick on the board for an investigation into crew rest requirements... Kyle Rodgers
