February 3, 201115 yr This question is pretty random; but after a forum search without much info, I thought I'd throw it out for discussion...I own GE Pro, BirdsEyeView and one or two other ground texture packages. I was wondering if anyone had researched the differences in the autogen files that are included as part of the Textures folder? Are the they all the same? Is one set better than another? Can they be switched with any real effect?I only have a basic understanding of autogen and how it works, so I'm wondering if they can be "tweaked" somehow to add more realism to FS9?Ron
February 3, 201115 yr A good place to start would be getting and reading (and hopefully comprehending) the information in the Autogen SDK from Microsoft:http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/d/4/3d460861-18ca-433c-9118-75f749ecce36/autogen_sdk_setup.exeIt describes everything which can be done regarding Autogen.
February 3, 201115 yr Now how did I know that you would be the first to answer this? lolThanks! I'll check it out. (I'll let you know how much comprehension takes place...)Ron A good place to start would be getting and reading (and hopefully comprehending) the information in the Autogen SDK from Microsoft:http://download.micr...n_sdk_setup.exeIt describes everything which can be done regarding Autogen.
February 4, 201115 yr The basic gist of it is that the autogen is "painted" on the ground textures so I would suspect each products autogen matches their textures and would most likely produce less than desirable results if you were to mix and match different autogen and texture files. That being said, you should be able to try some non-destructive testing with some careful file manipulation, ie: backup, backup, backup.regards,Joe The best gift you can give your children is your time.
