Hope we can get more reviews for this yoke; I'll take the plunge soon enough if nothing else good comes out.

Man, sometimes I really hate being in Europe - and feel that we are years behind Australia and USA. Ordering any type of hardware is uber-expensive and delivery costs virtually a small fortune.

I'm wondering if you can just stick this onto a saitek

And why would you want to mount the nice yoke handle onto a bad supporting system?

I dont understand that part either.

The idea is to get quality control of your aircraft, not just a good feeling yoke.

This requires good components inside the housing as well!

Can those unused connectors inside the casing be used for something in combination with FSUIPC (like gear toggle sitch or trim switches) without having to buy more electronic components (other then the switches)

 

And, are the potentio meters inside of good quality and can they be replaced easily when worn out (A typical Saitek problem!)

My CH products yoke has a trim wheel also but is totally unrealistic.

It basically just rotates the elevator pot meter.

As a result, 1/4rotation will cause a pitch change of like 10 degrees.

In a real Cessna you would give the trim wheel 2 or 3 turns to retrim between climb and cruise speed.

Well if want, you can calibrate the CH yoke's left handle rocker switch. With the pay version of FSUIPC for FSX you can assign up to 256 different positions for both trim up, and for trim down.

You can do it either with direct trim controls or using offsets - more elegant and efficient. Neither is difficult to do.

Thread is not dead just yet. I've been sort of busy building fsx projects with the arduino interface boards. I've never got to use the trim wheel but is works as switches also. And it is pulsed per arc of travel. Trim up/down leds flash on each pulse for user feedback. Pulse rate depends on how fast you turn the wheel. Assigning a triminc or trimdec keypress per pulse in fsuipc would then make trimming, rate dependant. How much angle per keypress as a value would have to be set in fsuipc I would imagine.

YES! 14 additional switches which are readily seen in fsuipc. There are a few more pots available aswell. Pot replacement should be straight forward but you probably need to order high quality ones in as replacements.

 

Goflight should have the yoke business sewn up when they release their first model in a couple of days or so. Lots of buttons on a good looking yoke assembly. Would be worth a look.
