VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
Maybe just as well! I hope the price is right for the goflight yoke. Having full sets of switches on the joke really does help. (Thanks for posting the link.)

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
Thread is not dead just yet. I've been sort of busy building fsx projects with the arduino interface boards. I've never got to use the trim wheel but is works as switches also. And it is pulsed per arc of travel. Trim up/down leds flash on each pulse for user feedback. Pulse rate depends on how fast you turn the wheel. Assigning a triminc or trimdec keypress per pulse in fsuipc would then make trimming, rate dependant. How much angle per keypress as a value would have to be set in fsuipc I would imagine. "Can those unused connectors inside the casing be used for something in combination with FSUIPC (like gear toggle sitch or trim switches) without having to buy more electronic components (other then the switches)" YES! 14 additional switches which are readily seen in fsuipc. There are a few more pots available aswell. Pot replacement should be straight forward but you probably need to order high quality ones in as replacements. Goflight should have the yoke business sewn up when they release their first model in a couple of days or so. Lots of buttons on a good looking yoke assembly. Would be worth a look.

Force Feedback 2 replacement?
Get it repaired. Sounds like a corroded connector or wiring. Do not throw it away.

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
I'm well into the modification of my VRinsight yoke. Now that I have time to fully investigate the possibilities of modifiying my yoke, I have discovered that I have made an observation that is totally incorrect. My yoke shaft is indeed hollow as you said Alan, and sincerely apologise to all for stating otherwise. This will make passing switch cables throught to the control PCB oh so much easier. (Searching for inline connectors now.) Cheers, BrassEm.

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
G'day Alan, I can understand VRinsight's position. I'm sure what I have in mind with my switch configuration for the yoke would be totally different to the needs of other users. It would be hard to accommodate all configurations. As long as we can add functioning switches to the yoke with a bit of engineering then everyone will be very happy! I will be trying to get the maximum functionality that I can from the yoke handle without compromising the great comfort and ergonomics that it has. I love flying both Military and Commercial heavies so I need to cater for both, which means it will be a generic switch fit out. Cheers, BrassEm.

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
G'day Alan, I've been looking very very closely on all the requirements needed to configure my yoke, and try and work out any issues before I go ahead and modifiy it. I hope to post soon. (Pics of course.) Cheers, BrassEm.

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
G'day Alan, I hope the yoke mod is going well. How is it working out? VRinsight have been very helpfull with my enquiries about reconfiguring my yoke. It appears they are receiving requests from others as well, and are responding to that. I am looking forward to see how this develops. It would be great if you could post photos if you can. Cheers, BrassEm.

Virtavia Tornado F3
LINDA module for the Virtavia Tornado F3 Download: Virtavia Tornado F3.zipVersion 1.0: First release.IMPORTANT: MCP COMBO Panel functions may take a while before they function while the Tornado "synchs" with FSX. (Can be up to 30 seconds on first load.) Comments: I know this is a fun "stick and rudder" aircraft, but while in a "Pea souper" it's nice to have the full AP functions there. Please view the included PDF file for the MCP COMBO programming as defined with this LINDA module. Also refer to the Viravia documentaion for the appropriate aircraft functions. Pretty much all the functions have been coded, but not all functions have been set to a Panel switch or knob. This is the first of many I hope. If there are any faults or suggestions please let us know. Many thanks to Crum and Guenseli for sharing LINDA! Cheers,

General Questions
Hello Crum,I have several aircraft model type entries in the SimObjects directory that I would like to have programmed with the one LINDA profile. ie. IRIS PC-9, IRIS PC-9A into the one LINDA profile IRIS PC-9.Is this possible with LINDA or would I need a seperate LINDA profile for each SimObjects aircraft entry?Cheers,BrassEm.

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
G'day Alan,I had some time and was trying to find the connectors for the PCB and came back to this thread for the PCB pic, and saw the new posts. Thanks for the heads up on the hollow yoke shaft. I will see if I can purchase one from VRinsight and do a retro fit. I trust you got your calibration issue sorted? I went to using FSUIPC (registered) to control all the axis as I'm using many input devices. (With the ability to profile different hardware setups.) How is the cockpit going? and were you able to add additional switches?Cheers,BrassEm.

Multiple Joystick Assignments
Hello Roland,I did a quick test and created a profile for Jet with Yoke and Jet_with_Yoke for the Captain Sim B707.I can confirm that .Jet with Yoke or .Jet_with_Yoke is not appended to the [Joystickcalibration] with either profile name so I would imagine it would be the same for [Axis] and [buttons] as well.It looks like a FSUIPC issueCheers,BrassEm.

Multiple Joystick Assignments
Hello Roland,Is sounds like there are axis entries that preceed the profiles section of your FSUIPC4.ini. This is quite easy to do if the profiles control is not checked when assigning new axis controls. If you are not familiar with the .ini's, perhaps you could pm me or post your .ini file to confirm that this is what has happened. (Your profiles should still be there.)Cheers,BrassEm.

Hello DennieT,Try run LINDA with administrator rights enabled.Cheers,BrassEm.

Multiple Joystick Assignments
Hello Andy,I can confirm that using just the profile feature, (Which you have to enable in FSUIPC), does exactly what I needed easily. I will just have to enter each aircraft as required. That way I can see what I actually use and unclutter my FSX aircraft selection GUI of redundant paints. (I know for a fact that MSCFS3 had a 256 aircraft limit. Highly probably that this is carried over in FSX too.)Thanks for the help!

Multiple Joystick Assignments
Hello Andy,Thanks for the example.

Multiple Joystick Assignments
That was super quick reply crum! Renaming to default seems logical. I didn't want to start diving in too deep. I can't find enough time to get the 727 going as it is.Thanks!(And thanks Andy too!)

Multiple Joystick Assignments
Hello Crum, Guenseli, My understanding is that FSUIPC is required to handle the joystick axes inputs, and I have a question about multiple joystick axes input configurations and how LINDA would handle them. My hardware consists of; A. VRInsight MCP COMBO PanelB. VRInsight YokeC. Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystickD. GoFlight GF-TQ6 ThrottleE. CH PRO Throttle I am enjoying the challenge of programming up the Captain Sim B727 in LINDA with the configuration of A-B-D, but am thinking of maximising the potential of my hardware that I have with other payware aircraft and programming up the configurations to suit. I am thinking; Fighters: A-C-E (No pun intended.) Boeing: A-B-D Airbus:A-C-D Reading through the FSUIPC documentation there are two options. Multiple FSUIPC4 .ini’s or profiles. Multiple ini’s seems the most logical way to go as it would be aircraft independent. However I would need to make up the files for each configuration; Fighters:- FSUIPC4_Fighters.ini, .log, .key & FSX_Fighters.exe,.cfg Boeing:- FSUIPC4_Boeing. ini, .log, .key & FSX_Boeing.exe,.cfg Airbus:- FSUIPC4_Airbus. ini, .log, .key & FSX_Airbus.exe,.cfg Will LINDA be able to parse between these different file references or is LINDA looking exclusively for FSUIPC4.ini? Cheers, BrassEm.(No problem if exclusive, just means I need to write a program to rename the needed files into the default filename format.)

Thank you!Gotta get use to the lua syntax.

General Questions
Very effective work with the keyboard Michel! (I was looking at wiring switches straight onto the keyboard pcb.)If I recall correctly, you must test all the functions of the MCP COMBO immeadiately on receipt purely for warranty purposes only. And don't forget the duration testing that is required.. with different aircraft... :(
-
General Questions
Hello Michel,I was concerned with this too, as SerialFP reported a different interface setting before I installed LINDA. From what I understand the interface reverts to COM3 without SerialFP as programmed by LINDA. It has worked wihout problem since running LINDA.Cheers,BrassEm.(P.S. If you have never used a Mode Control Panel and have only used mouse clicks before, you will NEVER regret your purchase.)

VR Insight Flight Master Yoke
My VRinsight Flight Master Yoke was ordered in the USA, shipped from Belgium to Australia. Packaging was excellent although shipping damage was evident on the exterior. It is a very robust and very heavy unit. You need at LEAST 2'6" desktop clearance front to back to place this unit. The good thing is you can mount your monitor and other stuff on top of it without worry. The case is made from a heavy gauge sheet metal and has a high quality matt black finish as well. The yoke is a box of approximately 19" depth x 16" wide x 4.5" high. The yoke handle extends on a 21.00mm diameter solid bar out a further 5.5". The handle itself is about 2" deep x 12" wide x 7" high. The box is made from a heavy gauge sheet metal and the yoke handle is a die cast one piece. Unfortunately the hand grabs are solid cast. If ever you wanted to incorporate switches into the top of the hand grips you would need to drill and dremel out a cavity to fit your gear. I hope that VRinsight revise the die cast into a 3 piece to incorporate a cavity for further improvements in functionality. At the back the interface uses a USB A/B cable as used by almost all types of desktop printers. The is also a large access hole that has been bunged just above it. No external power pack is required. Installation was very straight forward following the instructions. Assigned Roll and Pitch in FSX to the USB device and away it went. The yoke is not force feedback but relies on a spring mechanism to impart resistance. The build quality and engineering is carried out extremely well.Rolling the yoke I hear a very low audible thumb when rocking side to side. It appears to be the mechanism taking up tension. There is absolutely no force required to instigate a roll with only a very slight increase in force for a full roll deflection. 0.25 lbs maybe? Measuring from the bottom left hand grip corner, the full travel up and down appears to be 9" in the vertical. There is no zero detent. Pitch is commanded through the 21mm solid bar on three bearings in the assembly. On my unit the front bearing can be moved in any direction by around 1/16". So the yoke control thumps around if I lift it around. (Not a normal action while flying.) There is a "break away" tension from 0.5 Ibs to 1.5 lbs to get the yoke moving in pitch. It does feel sticky compared to the roll axis. The bearings are moving on the chassis and if not aligned properly could be causing the sticking. Up to 3 lbs is needed to get full pitch deflection on the yoke. The fulll travel in pitch motion appears to be 3.5" in the horizontal. There is no zero detent. The Pitch Trim assembly has a large 2" aparture knurled wheel that operates smoothly and firmly without any hint of binding. The trim LED's light to indicate activation of direction once a threshold of movement velocity is reached. (I've not tested this functionality in FSX.)The control PCB is a great surprise. The design is small and efficient as expected, but there appears to be a multitude of features not yet utilised for this unit. As it is there is input Analogue X, Y, Trim, and output Trim UP/DOWN LED's. But on closer inspection the nomenclature of the many many connectors show;KEYS 1 -12X*, Y*, Z, DIR, THRO, A, B, H, S, PITCH* TOGGLE 1-6TRIM +*,-*(* used by the yoke.)(CAVEAT)I have been using the Microsoft Force Feedback 2 joystick exclusively since it was first released, and nothing else. (I have a brand new un-opened MSFFB2 still sitting in the cupboard ready for use when my old one packs up.) Nothing beats it for fighter aircraft. Only when I took a flight in a dedicated B737 flight simulator (non-motion) did I realise how accurately a yoke translates into proper inputs. (/CAVEAT)The following photos are distorted by focal point but at least you get to see the machinations of the yoke.EDIT IN PROGRESS...
