Com Port problem

Recommended Posts

Well, just started to use LINDA with my mcp combo panel. My serialFB software tells me that com port 21 is used instead of regular com port 3. I can not choose it in the linda drop down menu...What to do now???

Open the FSUIPC4.ini (with Editor - do not use word etc) and search for

[VRInsight]1=COM3

and change this for COM21 or whatever ...FSUIPC4.ini is in your Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules folder

Changing the fsuipc4.ini will not be enough. There is one more file needs to be changed: FSX/modules/linda-cfg/system/config-vri.luaSet your com-port here too:

VRI["COMPORT"]=3

This means that the com-port you set is wrong... nothing else.

well, serialfp says com21 and works on it. I did as you wrote above. How to figure out now which port is correct or what to do else?

Sounds strange. 1. Try to unplug MCP from USB port and replug it again -- may be it will choose another COM-port this time2. Show me your fsuipc4.ini and config-vri.lua files...Then we'll see...

1. Remove these lines from fsuipc.ini:

2=com-13=com16

2. Switch off the VSPE (virtual serial port driver) if you use it.3. Don't run SerialFP2 while running LINDAAnd show me your fsuipc4.log after loading flight in FSX ..if the things will not work again.

I use a 64bit system - is that a problem?
No, it's not. Mine is 64bit too.

Switch on the MCP before running anything else, that's why you are having a problem.

Cheers, Andy.
