February 8, 201115 yr New to FSX I am in the process of moving away from FS9 (Finally) I am looking to see what the must have programs for FSX (I fly commercial aircraft 100% of the time). So far I have added all of my FS Dreamteam Scenery over to FSX, Quality Wings 757, and Level D 767 are now installed in FSX and running. What other programs do you feel are a must have for FSX?Thanks in advanceJohn JetLine Systems Gravity GT2-Windows 10 Home Edition (64-Bit), NZXT H500 Mid-Tower, Black, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 PRO WIFI, LGA 1151, Intel 9th Gen Core i9 9900K (5.0GHz Turbo) 8 Core / 16 Thread, Corsair Hydro H60 120mm Liquid Cooling, 32GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM 3000MHz RGB, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, GDDR6, 750 Watt Corsair RM Series Power Supply, 5.1 Channel Realtek Integrated HD Audio, Primary SSD Drive:1TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD), Secondary SSD Drive:2TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD) 4TB WD Black 7200 RPM Mechanical , SimOn Solutions 737 Professional Compact Trainer (MIP, OH). February 8, 201115 yr You might like Radar Contact, it improves ATC quite a bit and enables you to fly complete procedures if you like. :)However, for it to work you need to create a .pln file with your flightplan too. Fabrizio Sassi

February 8, 201115 yr You want general add-ons like REX, EZDOK, Plan-G (freeware), ENBseries HDR mod (freeware), FS water configurator (freeware), FSRecorder (freeware).Set-up your system for FSX with Nick Needham's guide.http://www.simforums.com/Forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187And you want to tweak your fsx.cfg with Bjote's website for maximum frames:http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.htmlIf you want to tweak further by setting up individual profiles for different scenery or planes then get FSXgo from FTX.Cheers,Noel. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals

February 9, 201115 yr Use Bojote's configuration tool. That's the very first step I'd take if I were you. It improved my FPS a lot. After you have done that, go into FSX settings, and save the graphics settings. Call it something like " Bojote modified settings" , just in case some other program changes your settings. You mention the FSDT sceneries - all very good. I found the LDS767 and QW757 also very nice in FSX. I have read good things about the EZDOK camera addon, but I don't use it myself. Stuff like REX is highly recommended (and if you use the lowest resolution textures, you get quite a big FPS bonus, too!). GEX and UTX are of course also nice, although I didn't reinstall UTX with my last FSX reinstall. I don't really have a use for it. I do low and slow VFR flying in OrbX sceneries anyway (these are also highly recommended, both the area sceneries and the airports), and the only thing I got UTX for is for the lights. However, these give such a huge FPS hit, that I can't turn them on so it ends up not being useful for me. If you like the MD-80, I can highly recommend the Leonardo Maddog. The model isn't pure FSX (it's a FS9 port), but to me that's not important. It gives me roughly the sam e FPS as the LDS767 and slightly worse than the QW757. February 9, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the info guys so far I am rather impressed with the fps not much different than FS9 I just feel it's time to move away from the good ol FS9 and see what FSX has to offer. Thanks John JetLine Systems Gravity GT2-Windows 10 Home Edition (64-Bit), NZXT H500 Mid-Tower, Black, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 PRO WIFI, LGA 1151, Intel 9th Gen Core i9 9900K (5.0GHz Turbo) 8 Core / 16 Thread, Corsair Hydro H60 120mm Liquid Cooling, 32GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM 3000MHz RGB, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, GDDR6, 750 Watt Corsair RM Series Power Supply, 5.1 Channel Realtek Integrated HD Audio, Primary SSD Drive:1TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD), Secondary SSD Drive:2TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD) 4TB WD Black 7200 RPM Mechanical , SimOn Solutions 737 Professional Compact Trainer (MIP, OH).
