KLGB - Aprroaches Missing

Featured Replies

It's been awhile since I asked about approaches...I don't remember where they come from. The thing of it is that I've been testing water textures in and around L.A. and have been flying from KAVX (Mike Max) to KLGB (Shez) and just noticed that all of the KLGB approaches are gone. When I select approach in the GPS it simply comes up blank! If someone wouldn't mind, please refresh my old memory and let me know how to get the KLGB approaches back? Please advise and thanks!Mark

I don't have KLGB, but if Shez uses ADE and imported the file from an AFCAD, then all the approaches will indeed be gone. You would need to open his ADE file in ADE, and use Tools/Import from Stock (approaches and waypoints). If not, you'll need to contact him.Hope this helps,

I looked KLGB up on here on AVSIM. I downloaded the lgb2010.zip and a service pack lgb_sp1.zip. The document for the service pack specifically states the approaches were added back to the GPS."3) Inclusion of the GPS approach data" from sp1.I noticed the afcad AFX_ file had a new date and that maybe an exclude in there had been removed by Shez or Will Morgan (Frame Rate Friendly Studios).I'll install and check it later and report back if the approaches are still missing.FWIW I found out some time ago that AFX_files if produced by AFX can be examined via a direct import into ADE9X.KLGB sounds like a nice location to virtually warm up from the mostly cold winters here :)

Thanks Ron and Tom!Tom, I'm going to try to import the approach data...Ron, I'll check my install too...and it's true, It never rains in southern California. My dad and I always joked about how Duluth was sometimes the coldest place on the planet and it's not that far from Minneapolis. We always thought that's why the Vikings were always such a tough team back in the day :)Mark

This is my fault. So the first thing I'd like to say again is thanks Tom and Ron. I thought I had installed the updated version and apparently I didn't. I swapped FS9 systems a month or so ago and copied an install of Shez's wonderful KLGB to my other system. Well, I grabbed the pre-service pack 1 version and low and behold no approaches...go figure :)I guess I need a sanity check, (just like so many of us do), but I'm glad to hear that lithium comes in a vanilla flavor these days. Thanks for the help gents...all is as it should be now.Mark

Sorrrry Shez!!! I love you're stuff and waited for KLGB because I love to fly out of it and you did such a knock down job on it. My only excuse is that it was a battle to get my i5 Quad Core system up and running. All of my files were spread over 4tb worth of external drives and I confused an already extracted and ready for install version 1.0 as a version 1.1.I actually thought that I had deleted the stock .BGL at first but I actually just misnamed the install. Duh on my part and great job on yours! Keep up the great work and forget about us dummies who actually think they know what they're talking about :)Mark
