Minimum graphics card for FSX

Featured Replies

I wish to have a third monitor in my set-up to display gauges, GPS etc. I had a generic 7600GT (256MB 128BIT) available so I installed it in my PC. When I start up FSX, to my surprise I see the error message "This graphics card does not meet minimum requirements for shader support. This product requires a Geforce3/Radean 8500 class or better graphics card". I would think this card meets this minimum specification?! If not, what NVIDIA card would be recommended for this purpose? I'm thinking that a card that uses under 100W would suit me best. ( I would prefer not to connect monitors via USB)

I'm sure the card meets the minimum specs - something else is going on.Are you running DX10? Or have you modified the Shaders?

Thanks for the relpy BertNo, I'm running DX9 and have not modified the shaders. Other info: My first card is a 460GTX, I'm running Windows 7 64Bit and have downloaded the latest driver for the older card. I have seclected to extend the desktop to all three screens in Windows.Chris

Hi Chris, I have the same problem. I found out that the problem is that new graphics card does not meet the requirements. The question is why the FSX check this worse card even it is a second in the system (boot goes on the first card) When I disable it in driver windows, start FSX and enable, it works and I can use it.... But as you can see it is not very comfortable. If you have any other solution, please let me know. Petr

Best regards

Petr
