February 21, 201115 yr I know it wasn't expensive but.... you have to work on this thing a bit before flying. To get the lube out of the way. You have to use a non-petrolium lube or things are going to melt. Use a silicone "grease". It has to be real thick not thin. You want to have a greasy sticktion (?). Actually your local pool store will have "Magic Lube". Thicker the better. As for the nasty center detent affect that the designers didn't seem to notice or think we wouldn't notice, There is a simple fix. Elevator, there are 2 springs, one on to one below that's hard to see. This on is not screwed inplace. Grap that sucker with some pinnose plyers and set it asside. That's it. Short of buying two long springs and 2 pullies to re-engineer the elevator, but id I did that I would re-shaft and put another 8 inches of travel in it. Aeleron, remove the top screw on the V-spring and let it sit there and do nothing. Take the spring that was removed from the elevator and and place it right on top of the shaft where the plastic spring mechanism is. There are even detents to receive the spring. I did have to tweek the end of the spring to shorten it, I have it to where it's just enough spring to center the yoke. The spring rate even feels good, tightens up when apply aelrons. To get inside the unit, place it on it's back, upside down, 12 screws plus 2 real small ones at the shaft.
February 22, 201115 yr Thanks for the pointers. Bjorn "I´ll rather be down here wishing I was up there than be up there wishing I was down here"
February 22, 201115 yr thanks for the instructions, I might even try it. :Applause: Maybe do you have some pictures to share? Lennart
February 22, 201115 yr Author thanks for the instructions, I might even try it. :Applause: Maybe do you have some pictures to share? Should have took pics but my bro has my cam. Just remember when its upside down, opened up and for the elevator there are 2 springs, remove the one underneith, its not fastened but hooked in place. Use that one for the aeleron. Just open it up, springs and parts won't go flying.
February 22, 201115 yr Author After tweeking my flight yoke. I found this cfg editor. Never done cfg editing before and this makes it so easy. The .cfg file is located in an aircrafts folder and determines all the planes flight characteristics. Mainly what I did for the stock mooney bravo was to cut the elevator affectiveness in half and doubled the elevator stability. You can use this software while flying to get thing more realistic. Some very nice freeware. But note that I do believe that altering an ac may develope problems when sharing an ac online. I wonder if I should keep the stock ac as a second plane just in case. I think its about renaming the plane to say mooney bravo #2, which I'm not sure how to do.No more rollercoaster on departure.Direct download for the freeware cfg editor- Hmm, no links allowed?? Just google " Download FSX Aircraft CFG Editor 1.0 " Sorry, again, I'm new to this site.
