I recently purchased PMDG 747-400x and downloadedall the manuals I could get my hands on. All the printed material refers always to FS9 and not FSX. I dont know if there is any difference in the printed guides but I was a little disspointed that a new product designed for FSX would only include doumentation for FS9. Any comments.Peter

Peter,There's an FSX differences addendum in the manual (it's the first part, the Introduction manual file) that comes with the 400X. The airplane itself is exactly the same - the aircraft systems operate the way they operate regardless of FS9 vs. FSX or even the real thing.

Hi Peter,The introduction in the first part of the AOM addresses this point specifically,"Updates: Chapter 0: Introduction has been replaced in order to bring the chapter up to FSX Specifications. Please Note: The documentation for the PMDG 747-400 is essentially identical across the FS9 and FSX platforms. This is because the simulation portion of the 747-400 remains largely unchanged. The significant bulk of work required to make the 747-400 operable within FSX is “under the hood” so to speak, and should not affect the operation of the simulation itself. For this reason, we have left the documentation intact and updated only the introduction chapter of this manual to include any differences and FSX specific information that you may need to know."So it looks like there is no appreciable differences between the to platforms when it comes to operating the 747 other than the specific changes mentioned in the introduction/update document.Hope this helps.Steve Mckennabeaten to it by Tabs :)

And to find those FSX manuals that came with the FSX version, go to;a) Program Files/PMDG Simulations/PMDG 747-400 for FSX b ) Start Menu/PMDG Simulations/PMDG 747-400 for FSX
