February 23, 201115 yr Hi All:I am a new user of FS Panel Studio, purchased principly to add aftermarket gauges. I do not have any aspirations to design a panel. So far, I have successfully added David Marshall's "Airport ID" and Ernie Alston's "Runway Info gauges to over 30 panels, until today when I attempted to add them to the Twin Bonanza panel by Chris Tuinstra (1st pic). This panel has 5 pop up windows (2nd pic), one of which is labeled "Moteur" (French) for Throttles (3rd pic). When I add a new gauge to the panel(4th pic) and then click on the Throttles icon, this is what happens to the "Moteur" pop-up (5th pic). It is way out of proportion to what it originally was. This only happens after I have added a gauge to this panel. Just wondering if any one can help me understand why this is happening and what I need to do to prevent it.ThanksChris
March 2, 201115 yr Hi,It's because he used an old way of specifying size, and when you load the panel into FSPS it changes it to the new way. FSPS doesn't always get it right - use it to change the panel size back to what it was.Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
March 4, 201115 yr Strange things do sometimes happen relative to the Panel Studio edits, (Though this is one of the finest contributions in FS).One way to correct the problem when things appear in different places or different sizes when the plane is then selected is as follows:1. Copy the original panel.cfg to your desktop.2. Rename the copied desktop panel.cfg to anything you like (I usually label it "Panel Original Default.cfg").3. Copy the renamed desktop file back into your Panel folder as a saved original backup if you need to go back to the original for any reason.4. Edit the panel.cfg file still in your panel folder as desired with Panel Studio.5. If strange things happen in the panel display when you select the bird in question, make a copy of your original default panel.cfg back to your desktop.6. Rename the desktop copy back to "panel.cfg".7. In a text editor like word, notepad, or wordpad manually edit the text in your desktop copied panel.cfg with the changes included in the panel.cfg still in your panel folder that were changed by panel studio and save the changes.8. Move the desktop panel.cfg back into your panel folder, overwriting the one still there. The odd display previously originated by panel studio will now be gone, but the edits as were displayed during the panel studio adders or changes will be as they were displayed while you were in panel studio. Before I do anything to a config file, I follow steps 1-3 above. In fact, I sometimes just copy the entire aircraft folder to the desktop. If anything starts to smell bad, you can always get back to go then.Good luck:RTH
March 4, 201115 yr Moderator If you are using FS Panel Studio, it automatically creates a backup of your original panel.cfg file!panel_backup001.cfg will always be your "orginal panel.cfg" file...Every time you Save an edited version, the previous version is incremented and saved as the next "panel_backup00n.cfg" file Fr.
