J41 repaint request: Penair.

I was just wondering if any of you repaint wizards out there would like to make a Penair repaint for the J41. I'd like it to resemble the Saab 340 livery that Penair uses. If you are able (and willing), one of the "special" liveries would be awesome, but I guess they take a lot of work to do...Hope someone's interested :).Look for reg. N679PA (for a nice "special" livery) or N685PA (for a regular one) at airliners.net.

I'll give it a try, although Penair doesn't have a J41 in their fleet, but it's a nice livery to paint never the less. This is work in progress, still got a ways to go. I figured it's an Alaskan airlines, so I'm going to paint her in the dirty colors, as its very tough and dirty terrain up there.1-9.jpg

You could add your request here.
What difference does it makes now? He's had this requested posted here, no one came to look at it, I respond, and finally someone is saying you could add your request here!. LOL I agree with you, he could've, and he still can, and he can decide to ask me to stop painting it too.:(

Looks very good so far! And yes, I like the "dirty" look :).Noone replied to my first post for a while, so I feared that noone was interested :). Now that you've started painting, I've got a few details I'd like to add if you don't mind.As you can see in the image below, Penair apparently names their aircraft. I'd like the paint to have the name "Spirit of King Cove", just to have the name of another of their destinations, and not having the same name as one of their real-life Saab-340s. In the image, you can also see the Penair logo just behind the door, and below the logo you can see that it says "SAAB 340B". Maybe you could change that to say "BAe J-41" or something similar :). I also noticed (in the same picture) that shield-shaped thing between the door and the first window. I haven't got a clue what that's supposed to be, but maybe you do.And for a REAL challenge (if you're up to it, and I know it may be a lot to ask), it would be awesome to have a Penair J-41 with its own "special" livery (as some of their Saab 340s have). You cand find a few examples at airliners.net. To make the masterpiece complete (I know I'm getting very specific here!), let it have the registration "N681PA", just so it has a registration number no other aircraft has ;) DSC_0096.jpg

...About that name suggestion of mine: I just noticed that it might be a good idea to name the aircraft after a destination it could actually land at, so King Cove may not be a good idea. "Spirit of Dillingham", "Spirit of McGrath" or "Spirit of Aniak" could be used. Choose the one that you like :).

That's fine, nice close up on that picture above! I have a few things I have to do today and tomorrow, but I'll try to finish her by this weekend.

Sounds great! Looking forward to see the result (And to fly her into Dutch Harbor in a winter storm :) )!

Hi Johnny,That sure is a nice livery and a very nice job indeed. As for my suggestion, I missed the part about you presenting a "work in progress" and it totally slipped by me. While I often check the forums at work I must remember that our servers somehow restrict posted images and I did not see the pic. So my apologies for treading on your post.Best regards,Robert

That shield you were talking about it's the Medallion Foundation, Aviation Safety Through System Enhancement. I got it and I'll add it along with other detail, to include the animals in the back side of the fuselage.

This sounds awesome! You'll even add animals to the back Big%20Grin.gif. Could you post here when you've found an animal pic you'll use? ..."Medallion Foundation"... never even heard of it :). But a nice touch to the repaint!

Thanks for the update :). I've just got a few questions (If I'm getting too picky, just ignore me Talking%20Ear%20Off.gif!):The name of the airplane is actually supposed to be written WITH quotation marks :). Just look at the picture I posted. I'm also wondering if the text could be a little thinner, if you know what I mean. It looks like you used a bold font. It also looks like the font size is too big. I just realised that you've actually made a J41 copy of the real "Spirit of Cold Bay" aircraft :). What I was hoping for, was an individual J41 paint, as if PenAir suddenly got one in real life. With it's own name (look at my suggestions in a previous post), registration and special livery. I'm starting to feel like an idiot now, complaining about something I'm getting for free, so I'm just going to let you do your thing and shut up...

Technically I just wanted you to see the bears, but the painting is not completed or adjuster to what the final livery will look like. I just wanted you to see that I was adding those smaller details. I'll finish her up by either tomorrow or Saturday. I'll let you know where to download.
