The 'Duke' Again - Question?

Featured Replies

This may be the kind of question to send me to the gallows but... :( Is it possible to have a Turbine Duke without winglets? There, I said it. Don't shoot me - please :( I'm just not a lover of winglets. I think it's much better looking without them. I'm the same with tubeliners too.I just love that silver painted standard Duke without winglets. Is it it possible to do?Thanks

Hi dougal,I'll tell you a secret: I'm not a huge fan of winglets either. Aesthetically I prefer an old fashioned wing. But almost all converted Dukes now have winglets so we went with the flow. All the best,Rob - RealAir

All Royal Turbines have the winglets and the strakes. They help with climb, high altitude operations, cruise speed and also low speed operations.
