3ghz / 18gb RAM / video card with 512mb FSX with recent (2 days) download RC4.3 add on: MyTraffic5 LevelD 767-300ERI'm left at the takeoff end of the runway (KSFO rwy 28L, KSJC rwy 12L) with instructions to monitor tower. There's AI traffic in front of me (I'm #2 or 3), but the tower never clears anyone to take off. I've waited 15 minutes without change. I tired "Abort and try again", but the tower just replies "you're #2 for take off". Nothing happens. I then tried Zurich - Heathrow. The "chatter" was the same I'd heard at KSFO with requests for Houston Hobby, Phoenix, etc. That's nonsense in Zurich. These are issues since installation of RC4.3I appreciate your thoughtsJim

Nonsense chatter is an artifact of selecting Prerecorded Chatter. Just use AI Chatter and make sure Interact with AI is on.Make sure you have the latest FSUIPC and Makerwys installed. Then from within RC rebuild the scenery database so RC matches aircraft locations to your installed scenery. See the pinned topic at the forum head for links and instructions. To thin out a string of approaching AI try downloading aismooth_v120.zip from the FSX Utility library here (works in FS9 too) and installing it. By spacing out incoming aircraft that allows aircraft in the take-off queue to interweave with arriving aircraft. AI bunches up when first loading a flight as they are allowed to catch up to their schedule within a certain time window.Sometimes a scenery fault can stall AI. With RC just registering FSUIPC for you I think you can still assign the 'traffic zapper' function in it to a hot-key. That allows you to nuke an AI within a few degrees in fron of you. You can also force an AI refresh by advancing your FS one minute. A user registered FSUIPC allows the use of assigning a hot-key to toggle AI density. If one of them is zero, you can delete all AI, and then toggle your desired percent back in for an AI refresh. Of course FSUIPC has many other functions in its user registered full version.I recommend practicing your first uses of RC at lower traffic density airports. Be sure to at least read the tutorials in the RC manual.

did you switch to tower frequency? how close to the end of the runway were you. if you have third party scenery, it's important to rebuild the rc scenery database. make sure you have the latest version of makerwys, link pinned to the top of the forum. after the rebuild, try it again.this time, before loading the pln into rc, click debug. specify a name for the log, and note where the log is being saved. then load the .pln, make your adjustments and click start rc if you can duplicate the problem of nothing happening after being told to monitor tower, then switch back to rc, and click stop rc button. zip up the log, and send it to me.have you flown any of the tutorials? flying them, and reading the manual (a couple of times) is the best way of beating the new user blues.jd
