prebuilt pcs from flightsimexpert or jetlinesystems etc.

Featured Replies

is there an off topic forum for off topic discussions so that this thread can be a place where people can share information about prebuilt FSX pcs? Thanks.
Sorry Zblast, we do get a bit carried away and off topic from time to time. That is the hazard of becoming friends over the years. I wish you well on your purchase, however and wherever you may choose to make it. It is a good thing when companies provide good service for the hobby.Kind regards,

Alain, second rate is always second best so why play devil's advocate and defend less computer, for more money. Maybe to you everything you think is below your own computer is all the same, but as tests have proved, an OCed i7 2600k CPU on a good SB board is something like 40 to 50% better* in FSX than a OCed quad core i7 based system. Your argument seems to be based upon something other than a service provider offering the very best value for the money, which certainly is not any 1150 or 1366 based computer, based on actual hard numbers, in either FSX performance or costs. It's not just CPU systems that are a bit off here, as some other key components are questionable as well, as pointed out by Dazz.If someone wants to pay more and get less, then go ahead. But, just because someone does not want to assemble their own FSX computer should not mean that they should pay top dollar for FSX underperforming hardware. I object to older solutions being represented as today's leading edge best to those who don't know better. In this thread honest, informed opinion was sought, and provided free of charge to the OP. Nothing more, or nothing less, and why these things are so was provided, not to hurt, but to help.Kind regards,*At matching, or less part and assembly costs. Besides SB runs cooler and needs less power so requires a less expensive infrastructure all around than a 1150 or 1366 based performance enhanced computer. Think 25-30 FPS with the older versions vs 35-45 FPS with a SB 1156 FSX engine.
SpiritFlyer, no one from my outfit has represented 'as today's leading edge best'. I said it no where in a post and it's not on our website. You just formulated that as a matter of your opinion. It is also your opinion that our product under performs even though you've never actually seen our product. Your underlying tone suggests that you think we're trying to take advantage of people which once again - is your opinion. If you want to go back to the old school FS9 days of discussing frame rates, our current systems will run 25-30 over maximum density but they are well into the 40s everywhere else. In my opinion (for a change) FSX runs smoothly all the way down to around 20 FPS. If you're a hobbyist who only cares about benchmarks then that would be a dissatisfying number. However, if you want to actually fly your sim then you never look at the FPS. You just want it to fly smoothly and not stutter, clear graphics, etc. Of course, I'll admit again this is my opinion but it is based on my experiences. Our systems perform exactly as advertised and we've never had a customer complain about it. I do appreciate and respect everyone's opinions. We're still new at this. You don't see us putting up banners on sim sites or anything like that. So far, we've been taking it to the real pilots and letting them give us feedback. Mostly we've found they don't care about the hardware. They only want to know it will do what we advertise and they want a complete system that they can plug in and start flying...not tweaking. This thread has been helpful because we know what areas to work on....and yes we know our website isn't great. We're not web designers but we're hiring one. Sometimes hiring someone to do a job you're not good at or don't have time to do is best. That's what we do! So zblast, I hope you at least give us a call and let us see what we can do for you. Anyone with Google can look up the cost of parts and software so you'll see whether or not our quote seems fair. ThanksJonathanp.s. SpiritFlyer, I really do appreciate and respect the fact that you obviously want other simmers to get the best they can and not get ripped off. I don't want you to feel like that went unnoticed. I just hope that I can impress upon everyone that we are indeed trying to do the same thing. We want people to get a good product so they tell others and come back to us...it's just good business.

bump. i got sidetracked on other things for a while and will still be buying a new system when the dust settles. There still seems to be no feedback from any who actually dealt with jetline or flightsimexpert -- perhaps because they are busy flying instead of on the forums tweaking, but I wld love ot see any feedback from anyone who has dealt with these or similar vendors.
