prebuilt pcs from flightsimexpert or jetlinesystems etc.

I want to pay an expert to do something that they can better than I can: build a pc and install and tune a fsx system, and, if possible, also install and calibrate the hardware and add-ons etc. The only two places I've been able to find are: http://www.jetlinesy...s.com/home.htmland http://www.flightsim...t.com/home.htmlBoth offer overclocked i7s with fsx installed. (Not clear that they are selling Sandy Bridge yet, but I would certainly insist on it.)Most importantly, Flightsimexperts also offers:"All the best 3rd Party Add-on softwareincluded: •FSGenesis Terrain Mesh X (Satellite USGS Elevation Data) •Ultimate Terrain X Scenery (Accurate airports, roads, water and more)•Ultimate Traffic II (Airline, General Aviation & Military air traffic)•Real Environment Xtreme II HD (Real time weather & winds aloft via internet) •Ground Environment X (Fly in an HD photo real environment) •premium 3rd party aircraft in addition to the 23 stock aircraft. •Choose the real aircraft type you fly or dream about flying and have it installed with your system!•More accurate ATC modeling. They use current ICAO phraseology such as "Line up and wait."•Multi-engine systems with dual throttle quadrants available•Fully customizable. Add radio stacks/switch panels pre-programmed for your system.• All software listed above installed, optimized and ready to fly.• Saitek Pro flight controls (Yoke, throttle quadrant, rudder pedals) "This seems like a really good deal and would allow me to spend more time flying and less time buying installing and tuning all that stuff. Anyone have any experience with this place or others that offer similar service? Thanks for any helpful info. (ps: I understand that for some people, building their own pc and installing their own addons is the best thing for them. It definitely is not the best thing for me. I definitely don't want to build a pc, and I"d prefer to have someone else tune FSX and install the addons and calibrate the hardware etc. so that all I have to do is plug and fly. )

Are the add-ons these folks offer all paid for? (i.e., will you get serial numbers in your name and the possibility to download patches, upgrades and get tech support for these add-ons?) Just asking...Cheers,- jahman.

That's a good question! I wondered the same thing myself when I read the OP's post. I would think they would have to either be retail partners of the various add-on makers or have pre-purchased a quantity of unregistered licenses to be registered when they are installed.

I was wondering the same thing... Even if, but also how.

The flightsimexpert website looks like it's been put together by a 10 year old kid, there's no info on the components or only vague things like "Intel quad core processor" or "600W PSU".... and of course, the buy button heheThat been said, if it includes all those addons, the monitor, yoke and TQ, the overclocked computer, everything installed, it might be a good price, but I would like to know what I'm exactly getting for 3+ grands

Their website looks anything else BUT serious. Their shots don't provide any serious quality - the lack of AA is amazing. The graphical quality of panels is just terrible. But apparently not even knowing about LOD extension, which is not being used at all (blurry textures in the distance).I wouldn't trust them with a stick. IMHO.

OEM pc builders include legitimate paid for software on their pcs all the time. Smart software makers should make it very easy for OEMs to sell their software by preinstalling on a pc. It's an easy low cost sale.I'm more concerned about the choice of components, quality of the build, install and tune of FSX and the add-ons. Those areas are where an expert could do a really good job and where I would gladly pay for good expert assistance. Would love to hear from someone who has any experience with these or similar places.

I would not pay anything for someone else to do a job that I can do better, way way way better, and for $3000! Over my dead body

Absolutely I understand some people feel that way. Some people also do their own taxes; some people hire an expert to do their taxes. I'm not an expert at building a really good oc'd pc. And I'm not an expert at tuning FSX, or knowing what combination of add-ons work well. I'd love to hire someone else who is better than me to do that. I'd prefer not to debate the pros and cons of diy vs. hiring an expert. But rather collect and share any information on experts, entrepreneurs and others who are offering their services to help people who don't have the time to become experts. At a minimum I will buy an OC'd pc from a place like maingear, and have to struggle through with the FSX + addons install and tuning myself. But I would very much like to outsource that as much as possible: less tweaking and tuning and more flying.

Sure, when installing a major package or two, lke the OS and Office, for example. But would they really bother with a dozen or two add-ons at $25 each for a "game"? I have my serious doubts.Cheers,- jahman.

Then search for 'jetline' - there were quite a few posts about them over months/years on these forums. This is the best way to collect info you want. The flightsimexpert website looks very amateurish.

How about I build you your screamer system, you can give me same 3000$ and I'll even tell you exactly which components you'll get! And I'll tweak it too!Seriously: ask here which components, then if you have a friend, build a computer together with him, or pay a company to do it. Noone likes taking overclocking on his own, meaning it's best doing it yourself, since it's in the end your own responsibility. And in the end, if you like paying, I heard Jetline are good. But I would see if I could get them to build on SB processors. Their webpage doesn't reflect SB.Also, the problem with all prebuilt systems is mainly that you can't really choose some components - while you overpay for some, others should be better.

Their page is clearly outdated. A phone call would probably clear it up.

Basically I built Jetline's "HellFire GTO" for literally half the price, and with a better GPU to boot (their site is a few months out dated, though). I really like Jetline's page, I do. I also love what they are doing for Flight Sim enthusiast. But in the end it would be better to order the same components they are using from Newegg and take the parts to a local PC shop. They'll usually stick together a PC for $80 or so and throw in a decent overclock for you. I usually build my friends' systems for free (or a beer). I charge others $70 or so. My point is, if you're looking for help to build, it's never far away. That way you'll know your system inside and out and in the end you'll have a more sound understanding of exactly what it is you've got. Also see if you can't drop in a PC shop and see if they'll order/build a custom PC for you. That's always an option! Give them some component guidelines and see what the price comes out to.The above being said, if you're going with Jetline Systems, ask rather or not the Sandy Bridge processors are being used and query rather or not you can have a build with that processor. Otherwise I would not buy the system imho. I just want to reiterate what others are saying. You stand to save a bunch of money!

Um, who is flightsimexperts? Unless I am mistaken or senile, I don't recall licensing any FSG products for this sort of distribution. How long have they been in business? Any names?Anyone buy a computer from them? Anyone have more information?I think this pre-installed software needs some clarification.JustinFSGenesis
