March 28, 201115 yr Your grades are the most important thing at first. If you aren't smart enough (by military pilot standards), they won't even ask your parents the time of day. Do well in school and, of course, STAY OUT OF TROUBLE. Also, if you have the financial means, start working toward your Private Pilot Licence. It may give you that edge you need over someone with absolutely no flying experience whatsoever (especially when they screen you on your potential flying ability, which they do here in Australia at Tamworth, NSW). If you can do this, you're at least on the right track so far. Keep in mind, however, that a career as a fast jet pilot in any branch of the military (whether it be Air Force, Navy or Marines) in any country is extremely competitive and only the best of the best will get in.
