March 29, 201115 yr I've finally decided to replace my sandy bridge mobo with a new revision one because of the cougar point issue. Is there any specific thing I should do. For example, do I need to uninstall the drivers for the old one before taking it out. Also, should I uninstall windows or would it be find if I simply took the old one out, put the new one in, and install drivers for the new one? Alfredo Terrero

The new mobo usually come with a disc that contains the needed drivers. If the drivers are signed by Microsoft the drivers may install upon installation of Windows.jrocky

I then restarted windows. It downloaded (Automatically) some chipset drivers. Then I re-activated win 7 without a hitch and was all ready to go. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

March 29, 201115 yr I just right now ordered Noctua NT-H1, see how it performs. Some nice reviews on the internet. But otherwise old proven Arctic Silver 5.
March 29, 201115 yr I used Arctic Silver 5. My temps haven't been an issue. Though I think people put a little too much weight. We are talking small degree in temp differences between the various products. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
