where are you klamb? USA?I really think for the same money you could have a Sandy Bridge system that would be a lot faster than that.I3 2100H61 boardyou can save some money in the PSU probably, since 500 - 550W would be enough and maybe even get an I5 2400

It will perform ok, depends on where, how much traffic, addons, etc...Look, your current option is:mobo + athlon II x4 + Antec 650W = 90 + 100 + 75 = 265$I5 2400 + H61 board + OCX 500W = 190 + 60 + 50 = 300$ (and this is going to run FSX on very high settings) It has some drawbacks, like no room for RAM upgrades or no overclock, but performance wise, it's a whole lot better than your AMD setup

You've gotten answers from people that know how to get the best out of FSX! :Big Grin: The system you originally mentioned is weak compared to standards most of us heavy FSX users compare to.Since you are apparently a light FSX user that enjoys default everything, I can't see spending much on a new system just to run it.\To beat a dead horse and get back to the OP. I don't understand your issue.You *want* to buy a computer, you *want* to run FSX smoothly, yet your are *not* ready to invest needed amount of money into the computer to do so.I suggest you simply give up on FSX... if it runs ok, OK, if not, NOT. Just get what you can afford and be happy with it, since you couldn't afford more.
