April 6, 201115 yr so you said medium-low settings, was that meaning for a dual core?if you were meaning for a dual core, what do you think ill get with a quad?thanks for everyone's replies so far (even though they are saying my pc wont do too good D: )
April 6, 201115 yr spose i might just give up and not waste my money if it wont reasonably run fsx....look at this: http://www.fsx.co.za/showthread.php?t=3789His system isnt too different than mine (even has less ram), and look what copdocter said"maybe around the medium-high area"So how would my pc compare to that?
April 6, 201115 yr where are you klamb? USA?I really think for the same money you could have a Sandy Bridge system that would be a lot faster than that.I3 2100H61 boardyou can save some money in the PSU probably, since 500 - 550W would be enough and maybe even get an I5 2400

April 6, 201115 yr I'm not sure what you're getting at. You've gotten answers from people that know how to get the best out of FSX! :Big Grin: The system you originally mentioned is weak compared to standards most of us heavy FSX users compare to.Since you are apparently a light FSX user that enjoys default everything, I can't see spending much on a new system just to run it.\To beat a dead horse and get back to the OP. Yes, it will run FSX. To your satisfaction, probably. To my satisfaction, heck no! :Tounge: Listen to Dazz (Dan)! And there's no link. I believe he's suggesting a build by yourself, like we do... Which I'm betting is not an option ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

Seems like you'd be better off.Dan, he'll still need:CaseRAMOptical DriveHDDGPUHaha. Stating the obvious I know. I'm just not sure this gentleman is ready to build for himself with all the respect in the world. What's your budget and what is your name "klamb"? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
April 6, 201115 yr well my budget is around 1000 NZD (which is the price of the first comp i was looking at(w/o the upgrades))
April 6, 201115 yr I don't understand your issue. You *want* to buy a computer, you *want* to run FSX smoothly, yet your are *not* ready to invest needed amount of money into the computer to do so.I suggest you simply give up on FSX... if it runs ok, OK, if not, NOT. Just get what you can afford and be happy with it, since you couldn't afford more.
April 6, 201115 yr C'mon guys, give him a break why don't we help him build the best possible rig with his budget?klamb, you can still get an I3 2100 and save another 60 - 70 USD and if you need a quad in the future, you'll be able to upgrade to the I5 2400Zach, I'm posting the CPU + MOBO + PSU combo he could get keeping the rest of the components in the OP for a faster FSX rig at the same price or close
