April 6, 201115 yr http://www.newegg.co...4&Tpk=AMD%20970970 BE. Works fantastic at 4.0 ghz. save some doododoo bucks! :) Check out reviews from real people. The AMD's poor IPC makes them perform worse than Intel's in FSX that is so dependant on cpu speed and not multythread optimized. For other games a PII X4 is better, but a dual I3 2100 will outperform that PII x4 970 in FSX by a fair margin... oh, and the I3 is much cheaper too
April 7, 201115 yr Two of my friends have dual cores with 4th ram, they aren't harshly on computers and they get smooth gps at ultra high settings.... What does that say Kevin...?

I'm not going into the effort just to prove you wrong... I'm not the type of person that does thatDazz how much of a difference would changing from and to intel make??ThanksI'm probably going to keep the and quad asy comp probably won't be fsx dedicated. And or heard some other games prefer amd. I play a few other games btw..
April 7, 201115 yr Clock for clock, an Intel Sandy Bridge like those I linked is about a 30-40% faster than a Phemom II. A bit more when compared to an Athlon II

April 8, 201115 yr Look why don't you go tell someone else about how spectacular your pc is and tell them stuff like they will need an i7 to play solitaire.... To be honest I don't really care what you post, I'm only eating posts from people like dazz, who try's to make it so I can run it, not tells to pretty much five up, when i getmy pc I'll take screenshots of my fps and settings, which I think will be medi high and above considering ual cores that are a little worse than mine run at ultra high...Eating meant to be reading, five up meant to be give upBtw search "amd quad fsx ultra" into YouTube and watch the video with the beaver in it, that comp isn't too much better than mine and look at the results...

Take a breath. Now that you've chilled and counted to 10. Welcome to the "forum", where all types of people give their "opinion" (which happens to be the same as "dazz's" in this case).fo·rum/ˈfôrəm/Noun1. A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.2. An Internet message board. It's your prerogative to buy whatever PC you want. It's my prerogative to give you my thoughts on it so long as you post in this forum and the mods deem my post as not encroaching set rules.Again, welcome to the forum. :Hug:BTW I'm well aware of what these AMD quad cores are capable of. Everyone agrees it ain't that much as far as FSX is concerned. I only suggested a better system to make you happy. Good night. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
April 8, 201115 yr Found an i5 2400 3.2ghz with 4gb ram, now how many cores does this pc have? 4? It doesn't say on the website, it has a nvidia gtx450 or something's close to this, is this better than the other computer I was looking at? I might get the i5 instead because I understand fsx runs better with intel, depending on your posts. So would this be an upgrade or downgrade from my previous pc?Correction... It is a i5 2400 3.1ghz with a gtx430 1gb.. And it has 4gb ramActually gt430 not gtx430 sorry bout mistakes I'm on my parents iphone

You'd see slow downs with a lot of autogen, higher resolutions and antialiasing (the way to combat the stair step look on objects edges). On the other hand, the processor is better. I would say get the system, but I'm honestly just not sure if that video card will run everything the way you'd like. :Sigh: It's an entry level card, and very weak. Is there any way to replace it with a GTX460/560? Maybe even a GTS 450? ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

April 8, 201115 yr ill check out the computer to see if i can upgrade the video card. Will that cpu make much of a difference or would it be considerably small?Fsx tends to rely more on cpu than video card doesnt it? but should i still try upgrade cards?thanksThere is one that is exactly the same but with a gts450, that the one your looking for?How would that do compared to the phenom x4?
April 8, 201115 yr Actually gt430 not gtx430 sorry bout mistakes I'm on my parents iphoneAnd not to be a biatch about this, but if you parents can afford an Iphone, then they should lend you some money to get a bit better PC, and you pay them back...ill check out the computer to see if i can upgrade the video card. Will that cpu make much of a difference or would it be considerably small?Fsx tends to rely more on cpu than video card doesnt it? but should i still try upgrade cards?thanksThere is one that is exactly the same but with a gts450, that the one your looking for?How would that do compared to the phenom x4?FSX relies on both, it all depends what and where you fly, and how high your IQ in the graphic card settings is.For instance: ground textures, autogen, ai - cpu, clouds, IQ (AA/AF) - gpuThe more you have of each, the slower it is going to get.
