Radar Contact 4 to new Computer (Win 64)

Featured Replies

I have purchased a new computer and would like to move my copy of RC ver 4.3 to this machine. Can someone give me a heads up as to the best way to do this. I still have my original disc but am I not sure if there was some sort of upgrade after I received it. Also I recall JD emailed me some sort of licence but that was a long time ago. I might be able to find it on my old machine if I new what and where to look.I have read that there can be issues with unregistered system files so I would like to avoid that if possible. Many thanks in advance,PeterNew system is i7 3.4 Ghz Intel, Windows 64 bit, 8 gig ram, Nvidia GTX 580 video card.

Any chance of a reply on this. RC 4 is last part to finish setting up new computer

This pinned topic describes the dll registration procedures for Win Vista and Win 7 64 bit systems:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/265834-713-and-unregistered-dlls/You will also need to make RC4 a 'trusted' program for various security applications also in a topic at the forum head. You will probably need a download link to get the last build of RC 4.3843 or 4.3845 if you do not have that version now. You get that by e-mailing your ordering information including your original e-mail addess to [email protected] if you did not get a recent download install. On a new computer you will need a new key. Once you get the installer RC version in you can try the automatic key retrieval system with your new product code. If that does not work you'll have to contact [email protected]. Be sure jdtllc.com is not blocked by your ISP's spam protection and your PC spam protection. You will need in Win 7 or VISTA to run RC for the first time as an admin by right clicking on it and choose run as admin. Once the is done and your registration is accepted you can make a shortcut to RC and in its shortcut properties you can ser that to run as admin each time. After your RC install is finished (key confirmed and files placed) you will need to install the latest versions of FSUIPC and makerwys.exe, links at the forum top pinned message. Once you have updated files restart RC and rebuild your scenery database once more (and for any airport design change) so the operation of the newest version of makerwys.exe is completed which solves certain scenery data issues.

Excellent response. That sounds like the way forwardsPeter

sorry, i must have missed your original post. one thing for sure - don't "move" rc from one machine to another. definately do an install. install 4.3 - if you need the link, send me an email. run the install as admin.send a key request, from the email address you used at the time of purchase. i think ron pointed you to the post on the format.if it's 64 bit windows 7, there is a pinned topic on how to register a dll in the \syswow64 directoryjd
