November 26, 200322 yr HI Jeff,We sent your update sometime ago, and I have just re-sent again to the two e-mail addresses you nominated. If you don't get them either there is a block by your ISP or some other problem. We have now most definitely sent at least three e-mails!!Best Regards,Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
November 26, 200322 yr Hi Rob, Your Making me famous! LOLBut, but, but I don't have a spam blocker (that I know of anyway LOL).Maybe I'm lucky but I don't get very much junk mail (OMG what have I said).I recently installed Norton utilities to scan for viruses, etc. Pardon my ignorance but this doesn't restrict your mail does it, I though it just scanned it on the way through. Can you confirm that you got my emails? This is strange?CharlesPS Just checked the email I sent you and I think I got a ,ca instead of a .ca DOH Now I'm not sure you sure trust me at the controls on your fine aircraft! LOL
November 26, 200322 yr HI Charles,This must be the most ridiculous way of communicating in history LOL!Yes, after the first four goes I spotted you put a comma in your e-mail, so I corrected the fifth time. Please tell me you've got it now.If not, you're going to have to pick an e-mail address that works for both of us. Standing by. Please confirm you have it. If not start again.Kind Regards,Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
November 26, 200322 yr As an unrelated side party to this whole thing, let me say that I am seriously impressed by Real Air Simulations. I have seen time and time again in this forum(this thread is but one example) where Mr. Young and the rest of the RAS crew have gone out of there way to work with the customer.Sir, you have my respect, and I assure you that the soonest I can purchase another payware addon, your company will be the first to receive my money.
November 26, 200322 yr Well you are not the only one to have this issue with your customers Rob :-lol [h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. Smithhttp://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-5/196432/winglets_lg.jpg Randy J Smith
November 26, 200322 yr Well Rob, I know your trying but the news is I still don't have anything at the time of this post. I can't believe this!!!!!!!!Yesterday, I got several emails just fine. Last night after reading your post I emailed myself several times with no problem to try it. I really don't have access to another email address to use.Right after this I am going to send you another fresh email just to try something again. BTW you get a+ for customer service.Charles
November 26, 200322 yr Charles - Just a thought. Does your ISP have an active spam blocker? Many of them do and the default setting is usually "on". These blockers do a good job but they also sometimes stop some things that should be left alone. If you have one active, there is always a way to turn it on and off by going to your ISP account on the web.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. November 26, 200322 yr Thanks for the reply DougI checked and it does but there is nothing I can do to turn it off!Never really had any problems like this before?Waiting patiently!Charles
November 26, 200322 yr HI Charles,As at Wednesday 8 pm GMT I have now sent 8 update notices. Please look at the return rejected post script for your e-mail below. Says it all:host MX.cogeco.ca [216.221.81.26]: 554 Service unavailable; Client host [212.74.114.40] blocked using dnsbl.sorbs.net; Spam Received See:Your ISP has a spam blocker, but we are not spam. I feel I have done all I can now to get this to you. As I suggested earlier, the solution is to contact your ISP and stop the block, or e-mail me from another ISP/e-mail account. I do not feel I can spend any more time on this without some help from you.Cheers,Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
November 27, 200322 yr Hi Rob8 attempts with a customer is certainly above and beyond the call of duty. Here's what I did today:Emailed you again.Setup a temporary email for myself at yahoo.ca Their spam protected as well though.Sent you a second email to tell you this address.Phoned my ISP Cogeco and this is what they said: (I definately don't know what I am talking about here, any opinions welcome, just repeating a condensed version of what I was told:)"No you can't turn off our spam filter yourself. When a company gets on a sort of spam list there emails are blocked by the software and they have to get off it themselves and there is nothing I can do."Dam Spam!Well, it is tonight here and haven't gotten anything at either address so I guess I have to give up. I have purchased several planes from different sources and never had anything like this happen before. Discouraging!!!!!!!!!Would anybody reading this know where I can set up a temporary email that is not spam protected? I can't believe I asked that question!Well, unless I get some new ideas tomorrow thanks again for a valiant attempt, that sure is Customer Support with a PLUS.Charles:-(
November 27, 200322 yr HI Charles,Thanks for your efforts. It occured to me that I have a couple of spare e-mail addresses.Let me try sending from these. But I suspect your ISP is doing a wholesale block from my ISP, rather than from my specific address. If this doesn't work then the answer is a completely anonymous hotmail account not connected with .ca who are clearly the people at fault here. Please stand by.Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
November 27, 200322 yr Update,One of the new e-mails appears not have ben returned, but I see now that your ISP has set up a global block on a range if IP addresses from Tiscali, my e-mail server. That is completely over the top and whatever your ISP say, it IS them who is at fault here. Ignore their excuses and get heavy with them! They are most definitely blocking without your agreement - whatever excuse they use.You can set up a hotmail account in 2 minutes and as far as I know the packet switching and routing of a hotmail e-mail is such that it would be very rare for them to be blocked in the same way. If your ISP is blocking hotmail then I really think you should change ISP's!Regards,Rob Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
