First I would like to say that as far as I've seen (pictures, videos) the new 73 will be a milestone in Flight Sim. IMHO, PMDG has already, and will soon set a new standard for add-ons. Bravo! With that said, I have a question for the computers buffs on this board that can give me some advice. Looking at my system specs in my signature, will my Coolermax 950W PSU suffice? Or should I purchase a better quality PSU?Thanks in advance. Looking forward to the PMDG!

Yes it will suffice.........everything that you have on your signature will be more than handled by that PSU's output potential. You haven't listed the type of video card you are using. If yours requires less than 950W on the 12 volt rail....then you are fine. if you need 1000W or more, then you should get something that can handle this, but once again, I dont know what video card you are using.

Thanks for the input, Tim. I am going to be running a EVGA SuperClocked GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5.BTW, the reason I ask is, I have read reviews and reports on my current PSU that stated it didn't really supply more than 600 Watts. Perhaps it is a poor quality PSU?

I dont know much about Coolmax PSU's but. If everything is working good now, and it supplies atleast 500W and 30A on the 12 volt supply you needent worry about any videocard issues. I like corsair......i have a 650W PSU and it works fine for what Im running, I need a new video card soon, and am looking into this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139013corsair is a good product and have great customer service should any issue arise.

Wow, a 950X corsair for only a buck 50. Great value. Thanks for the link, Tim. I somehow missed that on newegg. But anyway, I hope my current PSU can handle my new system. My current system that will soon be replaced is:Intel P5Q MotherboardIntel E8400 OC'd @ 3.6GHzGeForce 9800GTX+ 512MB4 GB DDR2 RAM

Is the specs in your signature what you currently have or what you plan on building?

Everything looks good. Id still go with the corsair psu. and the Asus sabertooth is pretty much overkill to the max. You can get amazing results with the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe, which i am running and it comes with a USB 3.0 box to put ion one of the front panels, plus you'll save a bunch of money over the sabertooth p67. 8GB of RAM is great, you can get away with 4GB and save a little more money. Get Windows 7.........I like it, and it works well with FSX. you can get the OEM version on newegg for $99.......no MS support, and no fancy box, and around $100+ cheaper. A case is a case, its all about personal preference and space requirements. The i5 2500K.......amazing, its also what I bought and it hasnt given me the slightest issue. I have the GeForce 9500GT 1Ghz videocard currently, and it works fine......for now, I want a better one....need to save up a little more money.Good luck. It will destroy your current PC which is pretty much the exact same thing as my old (HA like 3 years) dell XPS 420

The Sabertooth I will be getting for cheaper than MSRP, so I figured it was a good deal. I hear the 560 Ti is a great card for FSX. I will let you know how it runs once I get the parts this week.

Whoever you are, [email protected], you should do two things. Firstly, and this is in no particular order, change your profile name so that you will not have your gmail inbox filled with spam. Secondly, you should sign your posts with your real name as per forum rules.

Ask/PM a moderator to change it. Do not PM PMDG staff because they do wont response and secondly I think that they are not able to change names.

Another question for anyone who has the P67 Sabertooth. If I have a good heatsink (Arctic Square), can I instal it to cool my mobo while the H70 is cooling my CPU at the same time? Thanks

Is this your PSU Mike? Doesn't look good at all. A good quality 550-600W is more than enough for that system. Same to you Tim, I don't know what GPU you want, but your Corsair 650W can even handle an OCed GTX580 and OCed CPU. No need for 950W lol
