  1. Make sure you have your advanced animations section checked in the graphics portion of the settings on your FSX main menu. If it already is then I haven't a clue and wish you luck.
  2. If I may be candid for a moment. I picked up v0.2..........And it is what it is, and for me right now, is doesnt work for squat, BUT, they have made their customers well aware that their will be issues.....to which their are many........and as time goes on those issues will be resolved (maybe). Are they looking for customers money before hand, to aid with financing this thing, probably, Does this bother me.....not really, I was planing on buying both T7's anyway, and for CS to sell me an unfinished product for around $23 (american dollars, not euro) less that when the job is done, Its still $23+/- less than I would have paid, for a finished product, so if it sits in the hangar, and I do nothing with it, then that's just it, It sits there waiting to be finished and I saved a couple of bucks in the long run. For RSR to comment or "bash" CS is akin to Pepsi and Coca-Cola going at it, its business and It was an opinion made. Do I care that RSR bashed CS.....no....Do I care that CS retorted.....no. I have been 100% satisfied with everything that I have bought from PMDG, and am around 70% happy with CS. I will not even begin to go into the debate of which company is better, but I will say that compairing the two is like compairing a Jaguar to a Honda. They both work, and are relieable, but one is just much...MUCH better. I will let you decide who is who. I own, fly, and enjoy products from both companies.....I just happen to enjoy one more than the other. To whom ever gets rattled by my opinions, understand that they are simply MY opinions. I am not writing this to bash one company over the other. I am simply offering my two cents. To anyone that currently owns products from both compainies, you will understand what I am talking about.
  3. http://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-brainard-747-0502-20120501,0,5852024.story Not a flight sim post or anything related to PMDG.........I just wanted to spread the word to those that might care. In short, a 747SP will be doing some low passes (1000') at both East Hartford and Middletown Prat and Whitney campuses Tomorrow (5/2/12) with Pratts new Geared turbofan engines. While not designed for a 747, they will be flying them on P&W Canadas' 747 test bed. Im a machinist, and we make samples out of material that Pratt gives us for Metallurgical failure analysis for these very engines. Thats's all...........
  4. Much apprecieated Chris, Good job, and welcome to the forum.
  5. Make sure that the CLR button is not pressed on the HGS control panel on the center pedestal. Go to the center pedestal, and if your HGS control panel looks like this: NOTE THE RED CIRCLE!! Then your HGS display will look like this: If that is not the case, then submit a ticket with all of your information like, order number, name, etc. and I'm sure that the fine folks over at PMDG will be certain to help you out as soon as they can.
  6. I have not had one single CTD with the NGX. I had a break issue.........that got resolved when I assigned key commands for the auto break system, then I click the break button on my joystick twice like the manual says to do so, and bam, autobreaks disengage, and manual breaking occurs. I honestly do not know what everyone is complaining about, I have flown over 50 flights, from 50 different airports to 50 different destinations, and over 30 from my home airport to various destinations and the same thing happened every time, I set up my flight, programed the FMC, took off, and then landed. I read the manuals on how PMDG recommended setting up my computer with the fsx settings, added all of the necessary information to my FSX.cfg. Now granted, I believe that my computer is top notch, minus a rather, simplistic video card, which I hope to upgrade when I have the money to do so, so I really don't know the answer. I run the internet and navgraph nDAC in the background and am constantly switching between FSX and my other programs, and still nothing happens, other than my plane continues to fly in the sky. VNAV......flawless, LNAV......flawless. My cruise phase, decent phase, how I insert SIDS, and STARS, setting up the HUGS, everything, works just the way that it is supposed to. I bought the plane a little over a week after release, so its had a good amount of flight time. I really dont know what to say. For ME, this aircraft works exactly as they have been telling us it would work in the year(s) leading up to its actual release. All I did was read the NGX introduction, every single page, and did everything it told me to do. That being said, I tend to be pretty anal about my PC's heath and do a defrag every day, I maintain my computer fruitfully, and I keep it running stable. Maybe some issues are PC related and not necessarily PMDG's fault. I feel bad for those that paid a good amount of money for a product that costs more than the entire game is worth brand new, but believe me when I say this, It is possible to own this plane, and have it not fail on you every time, or ever for that matter. Trust me. Setting up the FMC properly is crucial, I would like to recant my first statement, I had a CTD once while setting up the FMC, and this happened, during my route building portion. I have the PMDG 747-400 so I was very familiar with the FMC. I dont know what I did wrong, so I read the NGX tutorial, that Ryan wrote, and followed the instructions, and haven't had an issue since. PMDG did a FANTASTIC job with this add-on, and I find it insulting for people to complain for months about release dates, and time frames, and schedules, only to complain about things that don't work. If there is a reason something doesn't work for you but works for another, than it can only be assumed that you, or your computer is the problem and not the software. Now, these statements are MY experiences, and MY opinions, What happens to one person but not another is out of my control, I don't know how anyone who is having problems, sets up their aircraft, or PC. I didn't buy my computer from Dell, or whom ever, I built it from scratch so I know exactly what is in my rig. Boards, cards CPU's etc, and how they work with each other. I would like to finish by saying that I am in no way singling anyone out in any way and am not intending on leading anyone to believe this to be the case. I am simply offering my two cents on the matter. Say what you will about me or my statements, because I do not care, but leave the developers alone and let them do their job, because if it truly is their software's problem then let them address it. Remember, with out the software developer, there is no software.
  7. I love your play-on-words, Joke-Air....Perfect. And the paint job is fantastic to say the least. A batman paint would be legit, but Mr. Freeze......Now that would be the shite, think about it, you wouldn't even need anti-ice. But seriously, the paint job is brilliant. My hats off to you sir.
  8. let me know the next time you want to do this, I didn't receive a PM and had no idea when or what was going down, I'm def interested next time.
  9. Plainville CT, NGX owner.........and DEAD serious about simming. PM me if you want, Im on the forum daily. And Tyler, I live about 1.5 Miles from 4B8. Small World
  10. This is truely good news PMDG team. Thank You.
  11. As of right now, I still hope we will push her out to the wide beta team during the course of the weekend, but we'll see how tomorrow's build comes together in terms of "error free-ness"™... We are strong believers that there is no point rushing something when an extra day or three or five will give you less headaches in the testing process.HAHAHAHA, you trademarked error-free-ness.......nice
  12. All the best to you, your family and friends, from CT...
  13. It has not.http://www.boeing.co...l/products.htmlIn fact, they recently, in early Feb of this year, rolled out their 1,000th airframe for ANA. While Boeing is pretty concentrated with full on production of the 747-8I/F, 777, and the 787. The 767 isn't going anywhere anytime soon..........All though they recently moved production to a smaller facility, I think they will still be around for some time to come.Mind you the 747 has around 1,400 units produced......so the 767 is catching up. http://boeing.mediar...?s=43&item=1610http://www.boeing.co...milestones.htmlAll these sources come from Boeing.com
  14. http://www.flypfc.com/index.php?page_id=1The cream of the crop........But not cheap
  15. id love to hear, thats the card im looking at getting
  16. Everything looks good. Id still go with the corsair psu. and the Asus sabertooth is pretty much overkill to the max. You can get amazing results with the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe, which i am running and it comes with a USB 3.0 box to put ion one of the front panels, plus you'll save a bunch of money over the sabertooth p67. 8GB of RAM is great, you can get away with 4GB and save a little more money. Get Windows 7.........I like it, and it works well with FSX. you can get the OEM version on newegg for $99.......no MS support, and no fancy box, and around $100+ cheaper. A case is a case, its all about personal preference and space requirements. The i5 2500K.......amazing, its also what I bought and it hasnt given me the slightest issue. I have the GeForce 9500GT 1Ghz videocard currently, and it works fine......for now, I want a better one....need to save up a little more money.Good luck. It will destroy your current PC which is pretty much the exact same thing as my old (HA like 3 years) dell XPS 420
  17. Is the specs in your signature what you currently have or what you plan on building?
  18. I dont know much about Coolmax PSU's but. If everything is working good now, and it supplies atleast 500W and 30A on the 12 volt supply you needent worry about any videocard issues. I like corsair......i have a 650W PSU and it works fine for what Im running, I need a new video card soon, and am looking into this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139013corsair is a good product and have great customer service should any issue arise.
  19. Yes it will suffice.........everything that you have on your signature will be more than handled by that PSU's output potential. You haven't listed the type of video card you are using. If yours requires less than 950W on the 12 volt rail....then you are fine. if you need 1000W or more, then you should get something that can handle this, but once again, I dont know what video card you are using.
  20. I have the P8P67 Deluxe......and I LOVE it. I bought the i5 2500K and once again LOVE it.I used ASUS's EFI in automode and set it to performance mode for like 30 min, it clocked the I5 2500K to a ridiculously fast 4.5+ GHz with out even breaking a sweat when playing FSX, (under normal conditions it would lower the CPU to a manageable 1.6 GHz). I quickly turned it back to "normal" mode due the the fact that I am using Intel's stock heatsink and fan......I was getting numerous CPU overhearing alarms by Asus's AI suit provided with the install cd..........when time, and finances permit I plan on getting the Corsair H70 due to the solid reviews and small size, and the fact that it will fit nicely in my case. I rather like my CPU and do not intend on melting the thing......trust me this MOBO can handle this procesor..........and kick the snot out of it.........but make sure that you keep it as cool as possible. On a side note, the AI suite II that comes with the install ASUS install cd, is something worth playing with.....It can monitor all your fan speeds, mobo temps, cpu temps, voltage, and it has various performance tweaking tools as well. This is by far one of the best motherboards I have ever owned.......and it looks really cool in the case, ( the cover of the chip set lights up.....not necessary but neat. Now I bought this during the recall and havent tried to return it. I'm utilizing the 6 Gb/s SATA ports and bought a 6Gb/s HDD, and am running my Optics drive on another 6Gb/s SATA port so im not worried. AND the deluxe version comes with a front panel USB 3.0 box........very nice addition. I can talk all day about this board..........its worth itI'm running 4 GB of ram and this is PLENTY.....trust me, I haven't had once single issue......and for me, I don't need more than this.Running Win 7 64 bit. I just bought the $99 OEM version.......which is the EXACT same thing as the $200 boxed version, minus....uh....the box, and microsoft support.....WHICH I have never in my life had to call for help.Hitachi 2 TB drive...which I will never fill up......it was just a good price at the time, and had 10 to 1 positive reviews on it. My frame-rates are very good both in air and on the ground with all 3rd party addon aircraft I own, at all airports.I cant even imagine the frame-rate boost if I actually OC this thing. During FSX play its stable at 3.5 GHzI spent a little over $700 dollars on this build. All I bought was the CPU, case, Motherboard ( Which comes with all of the necessary SATA cables), RAM, Power supply ( 650W, kinda weak, and this is something I plan on upgrading in the coming weeks to something over 1000W, due to my desire for a much better video card), and the OS. Everything else, Monitor, keyboard, mouse, videocard, etc.....I already hadThis computer is FAST FAST FAST, and isn't even close to pushing its limits. This thing is capable of SO much more. I bought everything from Newegg, or amazon.com. What I did was read reviews....If it had more bad than good then I moved on.Good luck.....if you have any questions please feel free to ask or PM me.....I am 100% confident that this thing will definitely run the NGX with no problem...........
  21. Could you just imaging being in that CRJ?? getting spun 90 degrees in a under 2 sec.......sitting there, getting your computer put back in the bag, stretching the arms a little......then WHAM!!!! At-least for those on the CRJ its a really cool story to tell.
  22. its almost 6 A.M on the east coast............and I've already been had........its going to be a long day.Hook, Line, and Sinker........this one reeled me right in. Good job PMDG, I honestly fell for it.
  23. Why would you plug your friends song on a PMDG related aviation enthusiast forum? I'll give some feedback though. It was horrible, really really bad kind of horrible. Either he.....she?......I'm pretty sure its a guy...anyway...."It"seems to be either trying to hard to be good, or not hard enough.......I've heard better. But don't judge me on this feedback, as I hate rap, and It means nothing to me. By the way, I was attempting to beat box once, buy my girlfriend mistook it for the dog trying to throw up........I gave it up a short time after. But your NGX question was legit...ish.Ok, I'm gonna post some FSX videos of me landing in crosswinds on a rap forum......wish me luck.
  24. Its just hard to know if the right decision has been made. Intel is only gearing their response to people who already have the "mainboard" HAHA that's funny stuff right there.....but if the asus p8p67 is what they say it is, i wouldn't put conception past it. Intel has not said anything relating to what options people have that DONT have it, other than saying the chipsets will be sent to manufactures sometime in late Feb, and full volume recovery by april. Regardless, If luck should serve us well, we'll both be tweaking a high end system in the coming week or so. And If we made the mistake of buying this thing before its fixed......then well....oh well. If utilizing the 6Gb/s SATA ports is going to cause this thing NO PROBLEMS then i really have nothig to worry about. In the 2-3 years that intel says "might" cause the 3Gb/s SATA ports (which I wouldnt have been using anyway) to degrade, there will have been atleast 3-5 new processors, and "mainboard" releases. If what one does now, works well, then the need to upgrade is less important. You never know, Maybe Central Computers will honor the recall and allow me to ship this to them when the new boards become available, at the cost of shipping. And if not, I will have 4 6Gb/s SATA ports, I only have one 2TB HDD that I know I will NEVER fill up. And one CD/DVD R+RW drive......that leaves me with 2 more options in the future which I know I will never use. 2TB's might be normal to some, but to me its HUGE. This PC (my Dell XPS 420) came with 500GB of free space, and at its fullest, before I cleaned house, was only 75% full. I feel like a hypocrite though, because in earlier threads I have made the remarks about wanting to be 100% sure that I have a defect-less board, well I'm taking that back. After countless hours reading forum after forum, Intel's take, Newegg tv's take, and from many other sites with information, I have concluted that this is;A.) A reletively minor problem Due to the fact that there are 2 different SATA port options, of which only one is effected.B.) I'm comefortable in my computer knowledge where I can address and troubleshoot an issue if one were to arise.C.) I might still be able to get the new board if Central Computers honors the recall.D.) I really HATE waiting. Now if Intel said that ALL SATA ports "could" be effected.......then I would have waited.
  25. Tim Steele needs no training....HAHA.....If you get the last board you can just buy me the NGX!?!?!?Just kidding, all I would require, if that's the case, would be for you to simply let me know how your FSX experience has improved, Mainly in the 747 aspect. Currently at KJFK I'm gettin' between 7-13 FPS on the ground, better in the air, and when I'm doing test flights with the 747-8 in the California desert and in Washington, I'm lookin at 20+. This build is FSX only for me, as I dont play any other game.....but hey, maybe I'll start if I can get this system up and running to the standards that I am looking for......I might need more ram tho....I dont kno, I bought 4GB's (2 2GB sticks), but I know FSX will not hit 2GB's under "normal" use, so I should be fine......IF not.....more RAM it is, no big deal. Your offer is beyond generous, I will not turn down AoA training, as it is a kind gesture. Do not feel obligated to do so my friend, In the fast paced world of PC's I will accept defeat, and just wish you the best with your system, and hope you have many many hours, of smooth frames ahead.
