April 29, 201115 yr Howdy All ----Like many probably, I have found the need to make some permanent waypoints in the MD-11 database. While we can make temporary waypoints, I have not found a way to define and store a waypoint in the PMDG database.Anyone know of a way to do this? Extending this idea, it would be great to be able to define and edit ficticous airport data that one creates in FSX as being visible and usable with the PMDG database. Lots of wishful thinking but just maybe...... Thanks --- Bob Bob Magill
April 30, 201115 yr Hi Bob,If you add your waypoint(s) to the wpnavfix.txt file under your PMDG/NavData folder that should do it. Mark Adeane - NZWN

April 30, 201115 yr Author Good Morning (here) :biggrin:Thanks for the input -- I will give that a try. Have a good day there!!!!Cheers -- Bob Well, no joy upon trying. I added a new waypoint to the file, in the EXACT SAME format as the other points, and the FMC will not recognize its presence......just gives me a "not in database" error.Real strange since it does not appear that the waypoint data is stored any where else that I can see. To further test the idea, I added a VOR/DME to that file, and again, the FMC will not recognize it.Any ideas??? Thanks --- Bob :( Bob Magill

Well, we continue to have fun with our PMDG addons, as I continue up the learning curve for the MD-11. I invested in the "Systems and FMS Supplement" Manual and it was a smart move.Lots of nostalgia behind the MD-11 for me -- I grew up in Long Beach where the planes were built and my father was a production tool designer for MD who worked on planes from before the C-124 Globemasterto the MD-11. Small world. Thanks for the comments and help --- Cheers --- Bob Bob Magill

May 3, 201115 yr Author See this thread,http://forum.avsim.n...__fromsearch__1I placed waypoints into FSX,and PMDG MCDU on MD11.Hello Jim --- and thanks much for the information. This is what I tried initially as you can see in my post. I would then search for the fix or navaid in the REF page in the FMU and nothing would show.Is there a step I am missing? I cannot see what I might be doing differently than what your example shows....:Confused:I tried both in sequence entry and also at the end of the file. Niether one worked. What Say? Many Thanks --- Bob Bob Magill
