Your video card isn't the best. As a comparison I ran my 2500k @ 4.5 (earlier without BSOD's lol) and my GTX 570 I got 5700.Also, make sure some AA settings aren't overriding the 3D Mark program.

It does look like your video is dragging you down, your video score 2485 against my 5469 otherwise you would have been in the ballpark. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/1122088

@ OP- Your video card is certainly to blame. Your showing a clock speed of 600mhz vs the 1000mhz of my 560ti while your physics (cpu) score is equal to my score. If you can, bump up your videocard speeds.While I sit here in here in my underwear, sipping coffee, I can't help but wonder about the 3DMark11 vs 3dMark06 scores as it might relate to FSX and Flight:If FSX (DirectX 9) can be represented by 3DMark06 (DirectX 9) and the upcoming MS Flight (probably DirectX 11 or better) by 3dMark11 (DirectX 11), then my 560ti is going to get buried by MS Flight.

So basically it is my videocard not being powerful enough? Is it just the nature of the 460 se or is could it be anything wrong with my drivers or something, because that is what scares me (the pc health thing that said my pc performed less than those with similar hardware made me think there was something wrong with my system)?

460 is generally too weak, for FSX too. I think the score is OK for your hardware.

The 460 should be fine for FSX as long as you're not playing at really high resolutions.3DMark 11 is a benchmark for exactly what it sounds like. For 3d graphics cards. The better card, the better the score.

Thanks for the info. I just never expected that more graphics power could so drastically raise your score when compare to CPU. I did online searches and people with a core 2 quad (but with a better graphics card) were getting much better score than me and I began to worry, but now I understand the great impact that a video card has on that test.

Your card and drivers are probably fine. Just like others have stated, your card is fine for FSX, it's just not going to score well in DirectX 11 benchmark utilities like 3dMark 11.

I had a chance to test something similar to 460 and I was very disappointed by the performance. But if you say, so be it... I will eat the 8xS, but not 8xSQ, my GTX580 is fighting the 8xSQ.But BP=0 as I said, should be fine, I didn't say it won't.My GTX580 can confirmed not handle BP=0. Stronger the card, less chance of BP=0 working.

On my 8800GT I could run 8xS but not SQ. This was @ 1280x1024. I imagine a GTX 460 would be more powerful than my ancient 8800GT so as long as he's not running a huge resolution monitor with 8xSQ he should be ok.
