Scratched FS Disk 4

Recommended Posts

Guest KFD

Hi All,My FS9 requires Disk 4 to be in the drive at all times. This resulted in a quite scratched and dirty disk (alright I should keep my desktop cleaner!)Is there a small patch out there that can dispense eith having to keep the disk in the drive when using FS9?KFD

I leave my 4th CD in the drive most of the time. When I do have to take it out, I treat it carefully. When music CD's first came out we were all told they were indestructible. We all know that's not true!!Victor

You can also make a copy of it using clone cd or alcohol, and use the copy as the 'working' disk, and squirrel away the original. That's what I did as I am always suspicious that I'm not getting the best performance using the modified exe files...sgEDIT: as an aside, copying it with a burning program that "fixes errors" and "amplifies weak sectors" may "repair" some of the scratches that have occurred through use.
