Weird problem during installation of fs9

Featured Replies

Hello!Today I have uninstalled the entire FS9 to make a "clean install", but of course (as usual with me) I come across a problem not long into the adventure... About 30% into the installation, an error message occurs (see picture), I have definitely not run out of memory on the disk, and the file it's talking about can not possibly be open in another program... I Have tried to choose both the C-drive and an external drive in the installation, but it fails on both ...Is there anyone here who has a clue what this might be?Thanks in advance!/ Arvid

You probably need to check how much space you have left on the C:Drive during the installation. I'm no IT professional but I think even installing programs on a different hard drive it still uses the C:Drive to store the temp files during the installation. I would say you ran out of space on C during the install process.Sean

Nope, I'm installing fs on a external disc with about 300 gig's free memory

Possibly, your uninstall wasn't complete. I think, sometimes folders are left behind and you need to delete them manually otherwise it might think there is another installation still present. Or it may have left some registry entries behind.Colin B
