2D cockpit - undockable gauges?

Featured Replies

Dear PMDG,I'm waiting the NGX to start my home cockpit project. I was wondering if gauges will be undockable from the 2D cockpit and will be then possible to put them on different screen to simulate PFD EICAS etc. Will it be easy as in leveld 767?Many thanks

I hope it is like the 744 because that worked better than the level D for me. With the level D you couldn't undock the actual screens right? You could pop them out but not move them if I can remember it correctly. Whereas the PMDG 747 could pop out the screens and unlock the individual screens like the PFD and MFD, etc.

Best regards, happy flying,

Wallace

I was wondering the same thing. With the fidelity of the NGX, if we can break out the components onto individual screens then it would be a nice cost saver for a simpler setup. I guess for more complex setups, Sim-A and PM are probably still better options for cockpit builders because they're specifically designed for that, will work across multiple PC's, and include an instructor station capability. But the entry price is steep. And I have to wonder if all the thought that went into the systems of the NGX (fluid dynamics, for example) are even taken into consideration in those third party products.

Considering this was done on the 747 and the MD11 i imagine it would be included.
