I've had more errors on this rig than any I've ever done lol!OOM.jpgAnyone know the reason for these? Clearly I'm not out of RAM.

Wow - the number of issues cropping up over the last week concerns me. Sorry you have had so much difficulty in particular, Ryan.

It's just meant to be. Maybe I'm supposed to be done with gaming for good. <_< Any ideas on this one? My coworker runs a i7 920 clocked to about 3.8 and he's had this problem with the flight1 mustang and payware scenery. I was running the L39 albatros with FSDT KDFW (I think it's a resource hog personally), but before that I did the Eaglesoft Citation X 2 hr flight, and before that another flight with something I can't mention but it's heavy on the fps. Overload I guess.

It's not RAM but virtual address space it runs out of. 4GB is the limit for FSX and you run LOD=8.5 which is quite a lot. That combined with other settings can easily force FSX to take up too much space

Ok thanks! That's what I thought... FSDT is a nasty performer even on this rig, plus the LOD 8.5, plus the heavy payware! Oh FSX, I love thee. IS the virtual space a hard limit for all 32bit apps?

Actually the limit for 32b apps is 2GB, but there's a patch to allow up to 4GB in 64bit OS's. The patch is hardcoded in FSX since SP1 or 2, can't remember which one

SP2 I think.
SP2 I think.

1. If you're already using a 64-bit operating system: make this entry in the [GRAPHICS] section of your FSX.CFG file: HighMemFix=12. If (contrary to appearances) you're using a 32-bit operating system: even though it does not look as if PHYSICAL RAM is exhausted, you need a 64-bit operating system to get more contiguous memory ADDRESSES. At the high settings you can achieve with your fast CPU, the addressable memory limit in the 32-bit systems is too small for complex add-ons and scenery.Hope that helps,Tim

What LOD_RADIUS are you using?EDIT: Oh well, I think others already answered: 8.5 is too much. Run 7.5, which is in my book more or less safe setting.

I am of course sorry that my suggestions are of no assistance. Your "sig" does not show up on an iphone. And even if it did, may I respectfully point out that to many readers, including me, "LOL" does not turn an otherwise discourteous response to a message written in a spirit of helpfulness, into a humourous one.Tim

That's odd I didn't know it won't display on iphone... nor would I know your response came from one (some forums add something to that effect)...The LOL was because I found it funny you didn't notice my sig? But now I know why you didn't.
